Synchronizing filter metadata with a multimedia presentation
A method, system and apparatus for applying and synchronizing filter information with a multimedia presentation, such as a movie provided in a video-on-demand context, to suppress objectionable content. In one example, filter information, which includes an indicia of a portion of the multimedia presentation including objectionable content and a type of suppression action, is provided on either a set-top-box or a video-on-demand server. A user selects a particular video-on-demand presentation, and the selection is transmitted to the set-top-box. Filtering may take place at the set-top-box side such that the complete video-on-demand movie is transmitted to the set-top box and then content suppression, such as skipping, muting, cropping, and blurring, takes place at the set-top-box. Alternatively, some or all suppression may take place at the server such that some or all of the objectionable content is not transmitted to the set-top-box. Additionally, whether in a video-on-demand, DVD, or other environment it may be necessary to synchronize filter with the multimedia content so that the proper objectionable content is suppressed.
Bill payments from a video screen
Systems and methods for generating bill pay requests via an internet-enabled video displaying device are described. The transaction generating system presents users with the option to generate a bill pay request to vendors of products and/or services while the user is passively consuming video content. As video content relating to a given product or service is displayed, a notification invites the user to generate a bill pay request. The user can then use the internet-enabled video displaying device to generate and send a request to transfer funds to the vendor.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SECURELY APPLYING A STACKABLE SYSTEM ROLE TO AN INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM
A method for managing information handling systems includes obtaining, by a stackable system role (SSR) manager of an information handling system, an SSR instruction, performing an encoding on the SSR instruction using a public key to obtain an encoded instruction value, providing an encoded SSR instruction to a local hardware resource manager of the information handling system, wherein the encoded SSR instruction comprises the SSR instruction and the encoded instruction value, obtaining, from the hardware resource manager, a response, wherein the response specifies whether the encoded SSR instruction is valid, and based on the response, initiating an execution of the SSR instruction.
Systems and methods for automatic formatting of images for media assets based on user profile
Systems and methods are provided herein for personalizing images that correspond to a media asset identifier by using user profile information. As an example, the television series “Community” has several actors, such as Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, and Ken Jeong. Poster art developed by an editor o50533238_1f “Community” may include an image that portrays each of Joel McHale, Chevy Chase, and Ken Jeong. In order to personalize the image, control circuitry may determine which actor(s) the user prefers, and crop out only those actors in the poster art to create a personalized image. As an example, if the user prefers Joel McHale, control circuitry may crop out the portrayal of Joel McHale and use only that portion of the image to display next to other text describing “Community.”
CONTROLLING ACCESS ENTITLEMENT FOR NETWORKING DEVICE DATA
Techniques are provided for controlling access entitlement for networking device data. In one example, a geographic location of a networking device is determined. A request to access data associated with the networking device is obtained from a user device. A user parameter of a user associated with the user device is determined. An access policy that controls access to the data based on the geographic location of the networking device and the user parameter is identified. The request to access the data is permitted or denied based on the geographic location of the networking device, the user parameter, and the access policy.
ATTRIBUTION OF USER DATA SOURCES ACROSS DATASETS IN A DATA SHARING PLATFORM
In one embodiment, a data sharing platform performs a series of data operations to provide different types of data via different sharing services of the data sharing platform that are derived from data shared by a particular data owner. The data sharing platform generates tag data associated with the particular data owner for one or more of the series of data operations. The data sharing platform determines, based on the tag data, an attribution chain that links the data shared by the particular data owner to the different types of data provided via the different sharing services. The data sharing platform sends an indication of the attribution chain for display.
Broadcasting signal transmission apparatus, broadcasting signal receiving apparatus, broadcasting signal transmission method and broadcasting signal receiving method
The present invention provides a method for transmitting a broadcasting signal. A method for transmitting a broadcasting signal according to the present invention suggests a system capable of supporting a next generation broadcasting service in an environment which supports a next generation hybrid broadcast using a terrestrial broadcast network and an internet network. Furthermore, in an environment which supports a next generation hybrid broadcast, suggested is an efficient signaling scheme which can embrace both a terrestrial broadcast network and an internet network.
Distributed scheduling of media channel playout
Multiple scheduling producers such as content management systems, advertisement systems, and emergency broadcast systems can independently send scheduling events to scheduling consumers such as streaming servers, guide generators, and playlogs. The scheduling consumers maintain state machines with persistent storage to process scheduling events from scheduling producers and output media channel playlists, channel guides, and/or content. Scheduling producers can contribute independently to define a channel playout while information at scheduling consumers remains synchronized.
Signal processing device and signal processing method
A signal processing device includes an interface, which includes a demodulation processing unit that executes demodulation processing, a processing unit that executes demux processing or the like, and a sync signal line, a valid signal line, a clock signal line, and a data signal line disposed between the demodulation processing unit and the processing unit, that transmits data signals as two-bit parallel transmission.
Preparation of warm inputs for digital content streaming
Systems and methods, to efficiently prepare for live and stored file content, implement one or more warm inputs, which actively ingest and demux content, but do not actively decode the content until an input switch is commanded. Each warm input can cache a most recent instantaneous decoder refresh and subsequent reference frames (I-frames and P-frames). Upon an input switch being commanded, the subject input commences decoding of such preserved frames. The formerly-warm input then acts as a hot input (decoding every frame) until the input switch completes. The use of warm inputs, which avoid the decoding stage, reduces computational resource use, allows preparation of all inputs by default, and permits metrics, status reports, and thumbnails to be generated regarding non-active inputs.
