Estimating real-time delay of a video data stream

In an arrangement where a physical phenomenon affects a digital video camera and is measured or sensed by a sensor, a delay of a digital video stream from the digital video camera is estimated. The digital video stream is processed by a video processor for producing a signal that represents the changing over time of the effect of the physical phenomenon on the digital video camera. The signal is then compared with the sensor output signal, such as by using cross-correlation or cross-convolution, for estimating the time delay between the compared signals. The estimated time delay may be used for synchronizing when combining additional varied data to the digital video stream for low-error time alignment. The physical phenomenon may be based on mechanical position or motion, such as pitch, yaw, or roll. The time delay estimating may be performed once, upon user control, periodically, or continuously.

Continuous slanted edge focus measurements system

A continuous slanted edge focus measurement system characterizes focus of a camera lens. The measurement system may be used to measure effects on focus on caused by factors such as thermal focal shift, humidity focal shift, focal shift caused by changing parts in the camera, and focal shift by changing the camera design. An accurate measurement system enables camera designers to optimize focus under a variety of different conditions and ensure consistency in the products.

A detecting method adapted to detect a detecting cassette is provided. A detecting cassette is placed into a device main body to be located at a detecting region inside the device main body. At least one image of the detecting region is captured by an image capturing unit. Whether a function of the image capturing unit is normal is determined by a determining unit according to a grayscale value of the at least one image. If the function of the image capturing unit is normal, a detection result is determined by the determining unit according to a portion of the at least one image corresponding to the detecting cassette.

Video load balancing and error detection based on measured channel bandwidth

An interconnect apparatus performs real time scoring and data throughput measurement of parallel data channels. The scoring and measurement information is communicated as feedback across the interconnect. Processing circuitry in the interconnect apparatus routes data to channels that have the best performance and reduces the data rate on channels that have lower performance based on the feedback information. This provides a method of dynamic load balancing to achieve optimal video data rates in a dynamic impedance environment. The interconnect apparatus also adjusts phase and data sampling times for improved fidelity of data transported across the interface.
