Marker based reporting system for hybrid content delivery network and peer to peer network
This document describes marker based approaches for a CDN to monitor and report on the amount of traffic that it is serving on behalf of content providers. They are particularly useful in hybrid delivery scenarios. Hybrid delivery scenarios means that a client may obtain content, such as a given multimedia stream, from one or more servers in the CDN, or from one or more peers in a peer to peer network. The amount of data served from the peer network is referred to herein as the “offload”, as delivery of that data has been offloaded from the CDN platform.
System and method to integrate content in real time into a dynamic real-time 3-dimensional scene
System integrating content in real-time into dynamic 3D scene includes external server including CMS, a device including content integrating engine to process in real-time 3D scenes, and display device to display combined 3D scene output. CMS searches for social media posts on social media servers. Social media posts includes message and URL to media content. Content integrating engine includes content retriever, content queue, 3D scene component processors to process each 3D scene's visual components, scene manager and combiner. Content retriever establishes direct connection to external server, and retrieves URLs from server storage and stores URLs in content queue. Scene manager, at time of low intensity during 3D scene, signals to content retriever to retrieve media content corresponding to URLs in content queue, one scene component processor to process display setting change, or another scene component processor to process media content. Combiner to generate combined 3D scene output. Other embodiments are described.
Method and system for remotely controlling consumer electronic device
A media system replaces content in a first sequence of media content. The media system presents the first sequence of media content to an end-user and generates a fingerprint of the sequence of media content. The fingerprint is for comparison with a plurality of reference fingerprints so as to identify the first sequence of media content and determine a reference position within the first sequence of media content. The media system sends a request for a replacement sequence of content to a content replacement system, and receives replacement media content selected based on the identified first sequence of media content. The media system presents the replacement media content to the end-user instead of the first sequence of media content. Presenting the replacement media content begins at a position in the first sequence of media content that is determined based on the reference position.

Custom content insertion
Provided are methods and systems for inserting custom content. An example method can comprise receiving, at a first computing device, an insertion instruction over a first non-packet-switching protocol information stream. The method can also comprise querying, by the first computing device, a second computing device in response to receiving the insertion instruction. The method can further comprise receiving, at the first computing device, content over a packet-switching protocol information stream in response to querying the second computing device. The content can be customized for an end-user associated with the first computing device.

System and method for watermarking of media segments using sample variants for normalized encryption (SVNE)
A system and method for distributing watermarked media content assets in which a main track of a media content asset includes a first watermarking payload and at least one variant track includes a second watermarking payload. A plurality of composite segments of the media content asset are generated for distribution, wherein each composite segment includes a portion of the main track and may include a corresponding portion of at least one variant track. The composite segments may be uploaded to a delivery node operative to deliver segments responsive to a unique watermarking signature provided by a client controller operating in conjunction with a watermarking session manager.
Content delivery network
A content delivery system comprising one or more one management servers comprising one or more processors for executing a code of one or more management agent instances. The code comprising code instructions to monitor a plurality of delivery servers of a distributed network to update dynamically a content record listing a plurality of content objects according to availability parameter(s) of each delivery server, code instructions to receive a content request from (user) client device to retrieve requested content object(s), code instructions to select preferred delivery server(s) from the delivery servers to provide the requested content object(s) to the client device according to analysis of the availability parameter(s) of each delivery server and code instructions to provide the client device with an IP address of the selected delivery server(s) to allow the client device to retrieve the requested content object(s) via a transmission session established with the selected delivery server(s).

On-demand session initiation and management
Methods and systems to provide and manage on-demand sessions are described herein. A request is received from a client to start an on-demand session. It is determined if there are sufficient resources to start the on-demand session for the client. The request is inserted into a queue if there aren't sufficient resources to start the on-demand session for the client. The on-demand sessions is started when there are sufficient resources available and it is the client's turn in the queue.
