MICROBIAL DECONTAMINATION OF COMMON TOUCH ARTICLES

An antimicrobial lighting system includes an antimicrobial lighting array that emits antimicrobial light within one or more antimicrobial wavelength ranges to inactivate one or more microorganisms on common touch surfaces. The common touch surfaces may include, for example, restaurant menus, airline safety instructions, pamphlets, instruction cards, or other common touch objects having a generally flat form factor, or that can be reduced to a flat form factor. Application of the antimicrobial light to the common touch surfaces may improve hygiene of such common touch surfaces and may help maintain microbial growth below acceptable levels.

The UV light based cart sanitization device may include a housing, a track for one or more shopping carts, disinfecting and/or sanitizing source(s), such as UV light source(s), and a control box. The UV light based cart sanitization device cart may include an internal package/parcel track for exposing packages or parcels to UV light.

AIRCRAFT DISINFECTION SYSTEM FOR STOWABLE ITEMS

Devices, systems, methods, and articles of manufacture for delivering disinfecting electromagnetic radiation to various areas, items, and components of a cabin of an aircraft are provided herein. For example, the disclosed disinfecting system may be configured to emit electromagnetic radiation to disinfect a stowable item, such as a personal item of a passenger or a component of the aircraft cabin. Generally, the devices, systems, methods, and articles of manufacture disclosed and described herein facilitate disinfection treatments, especially to items and/or components that would not be subjected to conventional aircraft cleaning treatments.

FAR-UVC GERMICIDAL SYSTEM
20220202968 · 2022-06-30 · ·

A germicidal lighting system uses far-UVC lamps emitting frequencies that do not harm humans, for example 222 nm. The presence of a person is detected using sensors, and the far-UVC lamps are turned on when a person is present and off when no one is present. This may be applied to a person's whole body or, for example, a hand or hands. A far-UVC optical system for a germicidal lighting system may include a wavelength selective mirror arranged to receive far-UVC light from a far-UVC light source and to disproportionately reflect the far-UVC light in at least one wavelength of the far-UVC light relative to at least another wavelength of light emitted by the far-UVC light source. A far-UVC light source may be placed in a reflective enclosure to direct light through an opening. The reflective enclosure or a mirror to which the light is directed may be rotated.

GERMICIDAL DEVICES AND APPLICATIONS OF SAME

A germicidal device includes a purification/disinfection and LED lighting member configured to generate UVC light and negative air ions for destroying microorganisms and removing odors in a space in which the purification and sterilization member is placed; a sensing member configured to detect at least one event occurred in said space in real time; and a microcontroller unit coupled with the purification and sterilization member and the sensing member for controlling operations of the purification and sterilization member in a respective state in accordance with the at least one event occurred in said space and energy saving. The UVC light has one or more wavelengths in a range of about 100-400 nm.

OBJECT SANITIZER USING OZONE AND IONIC AIR MOVER

A sanitizing device includes an enclosed chamber, an ionic air mover and a closed recirculation path. The chamber is designed to contain the object to be sanitized. For example, if the object is a mobile phone (or other portable electronics or small objects), the chamber may have the same approximate shape as the mobile phone. The chamber may contain a lid that is opened to allow insertion of the mobile phone into the chamber and then closed with a good seal to create an enclosed chamber with low leakage. The ionic air mover performs two functions. It creates an air flow through the use of corona discharge. It also ionizes oxygen to create ozone that will be used to sanitize the object of interest.

A sanitizing apparatus for sanitizing sheets, typically currency bills, has a housing defining a sanitizing chamber with an inlet and an outlet for the ingress and egress, respectively, of the currency bills. An intake conveyor conveys the currency bills into the sanitizing chamber into the sanitizing chamber and an outlet conveyor is arranged in the sanitizing chamber along a conveying direction and spaced away from the intake conveyor across a gap therebetween. An upper ultra-violet (UV) lamp is located above the gap and a lower UV light is arranged below the gap. An electrical system causes the upper UV lamp and the lower UV lamp to direct UV light onto an upper surface and a lower surface of the currency bills they are conveyed into the sanitizing chamber and travel across the gap, the UV light being selected to have an intensity to sanitize the currency bills as they pass through the sanitizing apparatus.
