A method and system for capturing and annotating measurement data includes communicatively connecting a mobile computing device to one or more measurement devices, and receiving measurement data from the one or more measurement devices. The mobile computing device stores the received measurement data and annotates the stored measurement data with metadata. The metadata includes group identifying information that associates the stored measurement data with other data having similar group identifying information. In at least one embodiment, measurement data is automatically associated with the group identifying information based on the measurement data being captured within a predetermined amount of time of each other or within a predetermined distance of each other as determined by a positioning system. The metadata may include, for example, one or more of a time, a location, a test point, a work order, a task list, a job instruction, a technician identifier, a text note, a voice note, an image, a video, and an image annotation.

A system, method and architecture for network-assisted scanning of a surrounding environment. In one example arrangement, the system is operative for receiving one or more pieces of environmental data from a plurality of collection agents, each collection agent operating with a plurality of sensors configured to sense data relating to a respective location area of an environment, wherein the one or more environmental data is received responsive to determining that a portion of the environmental data is necessary for updating a consumption point report. Based on the received data, an updated consumption point report may be generated, which may be transmitted to a data consumption point.

An EPF digital record transmission system may be configured to transmit an EPF digital record from an EPF device to a user device. The user device may then transmit the EPF digital record to a host server for storage and processing. Systems and methods for evaluating and transmitting combined external data from one or more assets are described herein. An example method may include collecting, by a data processing device communicatively coupled to a central data portal, sensor data from one or more assets, processing, by the data processing device, the sensor data to evaluate status data concerning status of the one or more assets, transmitting, by the data processing device, the status data to the central data portal, and storing and visualizing, by the central data portal, the status data. The data processing device can be co-located with one of the assets. Communications capabilities are supplied to components of pool water recirculation systems, even if the components lack electrical power or supply wires. A sensing system generates location signals indicative of where an electrically-powered, mobile device is in a venue. A control system determines that the mobile device is at rest when the location signals are substantially the same for a predetermined period of time, processes the location signals to determine an accurate, current location of the mobile device in the venue when the mobile device is determined to be at rest, and controls the mobile device when determined to be at rest to operate in a low power mode in which the average electrical power consumption of the mobile device is reduced.
