Loudspeaker circuitry
Electrical circuitry adapted to drive a dual-coil loudspeaker having a primary voice coil and a second voice coil connected in parallel with the primary voice coil, the second voice coil being in series with an LC resonant circuit of impedance Z.sub.mf, further comprising an inductance compensation filter of impedance Z.sub.if in parallel with the LC resonant circuit.
Audio visual correspondence based signal augmentation
A system includes a headset to capture sound and a visual signal of a local area including one or more sound sources. The system determines a strength of the audio signal and a portion of the visual signal associated with the audio signal, compares the strengths, selects the weaker signal, and augments the weaker signal. The headset accordingly presents augmented audio-visual content to a user, thereby enhancing the user's perception of the weak signal.
SOUND PRODUCTION USING SPEAKER ENCLOSURE WITH REDUCED INTERNAL PRESSURE
Techniques are provided for generating sound using a speaker mounted to an enclosure (e.g., speaker cabinet) wherein a gas pressure level (e.g., air pressure level) inside the enclosure is lower than an ambient air pressure level outside the enclosure. The reduced gas pressure level within the enclosure provides an environment with a reduced pressure level at a back side of a speaker cone of the speaker, which enhances a low frequency response for a given speaker size, while also minimizing resonant frequencies and phase cancellation issues which could otherwise occur with conventional speaker systems in which acoustic sound waves are generated at the back side of the speaker cone. A pressure compensation system is utilized counteract a force applied to the front side of the speaker cone as a result of the gas pressure level inside the enclosure being lower than the ambient air pressure level outside the enclosure.
ACTIVE SOUND CONTROL APPARATUS
An ASC apparatus, which actively generates a sound effect inside a cabin of a vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine and an electric motor as driving sources, includes: a reference signal generating unit which generates a harmonic reference signal based on a vehicle-speed-corresponding frequency, being a frequency based on a vehicle speed, by referring to waveform data; a driver seat speaker which outputs a sound including the sound effect; and a signal processing unit which generates a control signal that forms the sound effect by multiplying the reference signal by a sound effect gain related to the reference signal, and outputs the control signal to the driver seat speaker. The signal processing unit sets the sound effect gain based on a state of charge of a storage battery.
Ear-canal earpiece
An ear-canal earpiece having an electroacoustic sound transducer, a sound guide unit having a first and a second end for guiding the sound from the electroacoustic sound transducer to an ear of a user and at least one portion. The ear canal earpiece has a canal having a first end open towards the ear canal and a second outwardly open end. A diaphragm is provided in the canal and extends over the entire cross-section of the canal.
CONTROL AND PROTECTION OF LOUDSPEAKERS
A nonlinear control system and a loudspeaker protection system. In particular, a nonlinear control system including a controller, an audio system, and a model is disclosed. The controller is configured to accept one or more input signals, and one or more estimated states produced by the model to produce one or more control signals. The audio system includes one or more transducers configured to accept the control signals to produce a rendered audio stream therefrom. An active loudspeaker with an integrated amplifier is disclosed. A loudspeaker protection system and a quality control system are disclosed. More particularly, a system for clamping the input to a loudspeaker dependent upon a bank of representative models is disclosed.
Methods and systems for far-field denoise and dereverberation
Method and system for use with audible signals that analyzes the signals into time-frequency frames over first and second time periods. Estimates of the noise and/or reverberation are derived from the frames. Gains are derived from the estimates and raised to a power to create modified gains. The modified gains are applied to the frames in the appropriate time periods. Modified audible signals are output after being processed by the modified gains.
Device and method for filtering the resonance peak in a power supply circuit of at least one loudspeaker
The present invention relates to an acoustic signal supply circuit of at least one loudspeaker (HP) incorporating a filtering device of the resonance peak of said at least one loudspeaker (HP) occurring at a given frequency, characterized in that the filtering device of the resonance peak of said at least one loudspeaker (HP) is incorporated either into the first instrumentation ground circuit or in the feedback loop, this filtering device being purely electrical in the form an impedance incorporated in the first instrumentation ground circuit or in the feedback loop, the impedance parameters being predetermined as a function of the resonance peak to be filtered of said at least one loudspeaker (HP).
Emission of a commencement sound and a conclusion sound
Various embodiments associated with a commencement sound and a conclusion sound are described. The commencement sound can be a firing sound, such as a sound of a bullet exiting a rifle. The conclusion sound can be an impact sound, such as a sound of the bullet impacting a concrete wall. These sounds can replicate what it sounds like to have an experience around someone without actually subjecting that person to the experience.
Method and device for acute sound detection and reproduction
Earpieces and methods for acute sound detection and reproduction are provided. A method can include measuring an external ambient sound level (xASL), monitoring a change in the xASL for detecting an acute sound, estimating a proximity of the acute sound, and upon detecting the acute sound and its proximity, reproducing the acute sound within an ear canal, where the ear canal is at least partially occluded by an earpiece. Other embodiments are disclosed.
