An external device of a prosthesis, including an electronics component, which can be a sound processor of a hearing prosthesis, and a power component, which can be a battery, the power component being removably attached to the electronics component, wherein the BTE device is configured with electrostatic discharge protection between the electronics component and the power component.

EARPIECE PORTING

An earpiece includes an electro-acoustic transducer and a housing. The housing supports the electro-acoustic transducer such that the housing and the electro-acoustic transducer together define a first acoustic volume and a second acoustic volume. The electro-acoustic transducer is arranged such that a first radiating surface of the transducer radiates acoustic energy into the front acoustic volume and such that a second radiating surface of the transducer radiates acoustic energy into the second acoustic volume. A front port couples the first acoustic volume to a space outside the housing, and a rear port couples the second acoustic volume to the space outside the housing. Respective outlet ends of the front port and the rear port combine before exiting the housing via a combined exit volume and an exit port.

Sound tube for an earpiece, sound tube arrangement, earpiece with such a sound tube or sound tube arrangement and hearing device with such an earpiece

The present invention proposes a sound tube (3) for an earpiece (1), wherein a first section (4) of an inner surface of the sound tube (3) has a structured surface, in particular a textural pattern forming a relief comprising convexities (13) and/or concavities (11). Alternatively or additionally, the sound tube (3) features a radially extending, circumferential flange (8), annular lip (8′) or collar at an outer surface of the sound tube (3). The present invention is further directed to a sound tube arrangement comprising two of the proposed sound tubes integrally formed in one piece and to an earpiece (1) with such a sound tube (3) or such a sound tube arrangement as well as to a hearing device with such an earpiece (1).
