DETECTION OF FILTER CLOGGING FOR HEARING DEVICES
The disclosure relates to a battery charger for one or more hearing devices, comprising: a test sound generator configured to produce testing sound; an input configured to obtain first information regarding a first microphone output of a first hearing device in response to the testing sound and obtain second information regarding a second microphone output in response to the testing sound. A processing unit is configured to detect a clogging of a filter such as a wax filter based at least in part on the first information regarding the first microphone output of the first hearing device, and based at least in part on the second information regarding the second microphone output. An output is configured to provide a signal indicating the clogging of the filter.
Hearing aid having an adaptive classifier
A hearing system includes a hearing aid (10) and personal communication device (20) connected via a short range data communication link. The hearing aid has a signal processor (13) processing an audio signal according to audio processing parameters, a sub-system applying respective sets of processing parameters for at least two modes, a classifier component (51) statistically analyzing the environment by comparing specific characteristics of an electrical input signal to one or more thresholds. A program selector component (16) selects automatically an appropriate mode for the signal processing sub-system according to the classifier output. The personal communication device offers the user an interface for controlling and interacting with the program selector component of the hearing aid, and for generating and transmitting a notification to the hearing aid. Upon reception of the notification, the processor adjusts at least one of the one or more thresholds used by the classifier component.
System and method for feature management in a hearing aid
A hearing aid service system includes an Internet enabled personal communication device and one or more hearing aids provided with respective transceivers for establishing a wireless connection, whereby the personal communication device becomes a gateway for the hearing aids to a remote server. Each hearing aid includes a processor controlling the operation of the hearing aid, and a memory containing program code for at least one add-on program for the operation of the hearing aid. The server manages user accounts for a plurality of hearing aid users, including managing subscription status for the add-on program. The server creates a subscription status change event for the account upon change of the subscription status for the at least one add-on program and sends a status change instruction to the hearing aids for enabling or disabling one or more of the add-on programs by using the communication device as gateway.
Hearing aid user account management
A data system for handling user data for a hearing aid user and at least one hearing aid (10, 11) having a memory for storing personal settings for alleviating a hearing loss for the hearing aid user includes a remote server (25) accessible by means of an Internet enabled computer device. A personal communication device (13) is Internet enabled and is able to act as a gateway to the Internet for the at least one hearing aid. The user may create a user account on the remote server, enter personal information into the user account and store the entered personal information on the remote server, and enter the gateway information to the user account. The personal communication device and the at least one hearing aid are provided with respective transceivers for establishing a wireless connection under guidance of said application software. The least one hearing aid uploads the personal settings for alleviating the hearing loss via the gateway to the remote server for storing in the user account.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A HEARING AID AND HEARING AID
A method operates a hearing aid, which has a sensor, a microphone, and a receiver. Breathing difficulties of a wearer are inferred on the basis of measurement data created by the sensor and a measure for a risk is determined based thereon. An activity helping the wearer is carried out depending on the measure. Furthermore, the hearing aid is configured for carrying out the method.
PERSONALIZATION OF ALGORITHM PARAMETERS OF A HEARING DEVICE
A method of personalizing one or more parameters of a processing algorithm for use in a hearing aid of a specific user comprises Performing a predictive test for estimating a hearing ability of the user when listening to signals having different characteristics; Analyzing results of said predictive test for said user and providing a hearing ability measure for said user; Selecting a specific processing algorithm of said hearing aid, Selecting a cost-benefit function related to said user's hearing ability in dependence of said different characteristics for said algorithm; and Determining, for said user, one or more personalized parameters of said processing algorithm in dependence of said hearing ability measure and said cost-benefit function.
Listening experiences for smart environments using hearing devices
An Internet-connected system and method for adapting a hearing configuration in a smart environment includes a hearing system including a hearing device. The hearing system connects to the Internet and transmits or receives an identification parameter corresponding to the hearing system. The hearing system receives a hearing program parameter over the Internet for configuring the hearing device when the hearing system is within a smart environment defined by a smart space system. The hearing program parameter computed is based on an environmental parameter measured within the smart environment by a sensor system of the smart space system. The hearing program parameter is sent to the hearing system over the Internet in response to a discovery system of the smart space system detecting the presence of the hearing system in the smart environment in response to receiving the identification parameter. The hearing device is programmed based on the hearing program parameter.
Estimating a battery life of a hearing instrument
A processing system determines, based on a set of input datapoints, a current state of charge (SOC) of a battery of a hearing instrument. Additionally, the processing system determines a predicted agenda of the hearing instrument, the predicted agenda comprising one or more future time segments. The processing system estimates, based on the current state of charge and the predicted agenda of the hearing instrument, an amount of time remaining until the future SOC of the battery of the hearing instrument reaches a threshold.
Hearing aid with automatic antenna tuning
There is provided a hearing aid with an antenna connected to a transmission and/or reception circuit for transmission and/or reception of the electromagnetic energy via the antenna. A coupling circuit, e.g. including a directional coupler, is configured to sense an electric return power from the antenna, and to generate a power signal based on the sensed electric return power. A controllable impedance circuit is connected to the antenna, so as to allow adjusting of impedance of the antenna in at least two different steps. A processor is configured to generate a tuning control signal to the controllable impedance circuit in response to the power signal. This allows control of the impedance of the antenna for minimizing impedance mismatch, and thus improve performance of the antenna by tuning the impedance to the operating conditions of the antenna, preferably in an automatic manner.
