The system (1) further comprises a line set (40) connected to the purified water outlet connector (128) at a water line connector (68) of the line set (40), wherein the line set (40) includes at least one sterile sterilizing grade filter (70a, 70b) arranged to filter the purified water into sterile purified water.
Delivery System and Mode of Operation Thereof
A medical system suitable for delivering a fluid to a patient according to multiple modes of operation, including a safety mode that additionally enables the delivery or the treatment to continue even when a probable anomaly is detected.
System And Method For Peritoneal Dialysis
The invention relates to a system of performing an evidence Dialysis modality of Batch, Tidal or a combination of both. The system: isolates cavity volume changes due only to ultrafiltrate; determines the volume of a patient cavity; determines a full cavity; determines an objective time to initiate an exchange; and determines an empty cavity. One or more combination of these features provide for evidence base Fill, Dwell, and Drain sequences. The system comprises: a cassette having a heated region and a sensor region for measurements. A valve manifold supplies a patient connection with fluid. A microprocessor receives pressure measurements, controls the heated region and activates a volumetric pump to deliver or extract discrete increments of the fluid to the cassette from bags. Filtering pressure measurements to remove rapid fluctuations determines an accumulated pressure in the patient cavity. The volume of fluid in the patient cavity correlates to the accumulated pressure.
PERITONEAL DIALYSIS USING PRESSURIZED CYLINDER
A peritoneal dialysis system includes a control unit configured to cause (i) a fluid inlet valve and a fluid outlet valve to occlude a fluid inlet line and a fluid outlet line, respectively, while a linear actuator moves a piston to create a positive pressure within a pump housing, the positive pressure measured by a pressure sensor, and (ii) the fluid inlet valve to occlude the fluid inlet line and the fluid outlet valve to open the fluid outlet line, while the linear actuator moves the piston so as to maintain the positive pressure within the pump housing while fluid is pumped out of the fluid pump chamber via the opened fluid outlet line.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING NOCTURNAL TREATMENT
Treatment controllers and methods are provided that can be integrated with treatment systems, such as peritoneal dialysis systems, hemodialysis systems, and nocturnal treatment systems, to manage execution of treatment operations or a course of treatment based on timing information and/or patient sleep state.
Peritoneal Dialysis System with Constant Volume Disposable Pump
In one aspect, a peritoneal dialysis (PD) system includes a housing that receives a disposable cassette, a plurality of pinch valves that receive respective sections of fluid tubing of the disposable cassette, an air port that forms an airtight seal with an air line of the disposable cassette, an air pump that alternatingly pushes air out of the air port and pulls air in from the air port, and a computer processor that controls the plurality of pinch valves and the air pump such that the cassette performs a dwell phase in which the diaphragm pump pumps fresh dialysate from a dialysate bag to a heater bag, a fill phase in which the diaphragm pump pumps the fresh dialysate from the heater bag to a patient line, and a drain phase in which the diaphragm pump pumps spent dialysate form the patient to a drain.
PERITONEAL DIALYSIS SYSTEM HAVING AIR-AIDED PUMPING SEQUENCES
A peritoneal dialysis (“PD”) system having an air-aided pumping sequence is disclosed herein. In an example, a PD system includes a housing, a PD fluid pump housed by the housing, an airtrap, a fluid line extending from the airtrap, a fluid line valve positioned and arranged to operate with the fluid line, a gas line extending from an upper portion of the airtrap, and a gas line valve positioned and arranged to operate with the gas line. The system also includes a control unit configured to cause the fluid line valve to close, the gas line valve to open, and the PD fluid pump to pump gas from the airtrap into the gas line after a patient drain to create a pocket of gas in the fluid line and push residual used PD fluid towards a drain line.
PERITONEAL DIALYSIS SYSTEM HAVING CARBON DIOXIDE INJECTION TO INHIBIT/REMOVE CALCIUM CARBONATE
A peritoneal dialysis (“PD”) system includes a PD fluid pump; a disinfection loop including the PD fluid pump, the disinfection loop including PD fluid used for disinfecting the disinfection loop; and a carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2), source positioned and arranged to supply CO.sub.2 to the disinfection loop to inhibit and/or remove the production of calcium carbonate (CaCO.sub.3) during a disinfection sequence. The PD system includes a control unit configured to open a valve to allow CO.sub.2 to be supplied, wherein the control unit may use a lookup table or algorithm to determine the desired pressure or pressure increase.
User Interface for Dialysis Treatment
A graphical user interface for a medical system comprises a display device, an electronic processor that operates with the display device to display a plurality of screens including a programming screen by which a user can enter or modify medical treatment parameters employed by a machine to perform a medical treatment. When a user modifies a first medical treatment parameter, the processor is programmed to adjust at least one other medical treatment parameters depending on the first medical treatment parameters.
