AUDIO PROCESSING APPARATUS
The present technology relates to an audio processing apparatus capable of downmixing 7.1-ch audio data to 2-ch audio data. A coefficient for downmixing 7.1-ch audio data to 2-ch audio data is set from a coefficient for downmixing 7.1-ch audio data to 5.1-ch audio data specified by a Moving Picture Experts Group 4 (MPEG4) audio standard and a coefficient for downmixing 5.1-ch audio data to 2-ch audio data specified by the standard, and stored in a 2-ch downmixing coefficient unit 22. A 2-ch downmixing unit 21 downmixes 7.1-ch audio data to 2-ch audio data using a coefficient stored in the 2-ch downmixing coefficient unit 22. The present technology can be applied to an audio processing apparatus.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF DISTRIBUTING AND PLAYING BACK LOW-FREQUENCY AUDIO CONTENT
Multichannel audio playback devices and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some examples, a first playback device is configured to receive a source stream of audio content comprising left, right and center input channels. In a first mode, the first playback device is configured to play back audio via a plurality of transducers based on the left, right, and center input channels. In a second mode, in which the first playback device is bonded to second and third playback devices, the first playback device is configured to (i) play back audio via the plurality of transducers based on at least the center input channel, (ii) cause audio to be played via the second playback device based on at least the right input channel, and (iii) cause audio to be played via the third playback device based on at least the left input channel.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED ACOUSTO-HAPTIC SPEAKERS
The systems and methods described herein relate to, among other things, a transducer capable of producing acoustic and tactile stimulation. The transducer includes a rigid mass element disposed on the diaphragm of a speaker. The mass element may optionally be removable and may have a mass selected such that the resonant frequency of the transducer falls within the range of frequencies present in an input electrical audio signal. The systems and methods advantageously benefits from both the fidelity and audio performance of a full-range speaker while simultaneously producing high-fidelity, adjustable and palpable haptic vibrations.
Audio device
A method and system dynamically adjusts the audio of an audio and video signal to improve its overall sound quality and dialog intelligibility. Some embodiments use gain, equalization, audio signal compression and spatial enhancement (reverb) on individual channels of a multichannel audio signal.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING AUGMENTED AUDIO
A system for providing augmented audio to users in a vehicle, comprising: a plurality of speakers disposed in a perimeter of a cabin of the vehicle; and a controller configured to receive a first audio signal and a second audio signal, to drive the plurality of speakers in accordance with a first array configuration such that a bass content of the first audio signal is produced in a first listening zone within the vehicle cabin, and to drive the plurality of speakers in accordance with a second array configuration such that a bass content of the second audio signal is produced in a first listening zone within the vehicle cabin, wherein in the first listening zone a magnitude of the first bass content is greater than a magnitude of the second bass content and in the second listening zone the magnitude of the second bass content is greater than the magnitude of the first bass content.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING AUGMENTED AUDIO
A system for providing augmented spatialized audio in a vehicle, including a plurality of speakers disposed in a perimeter of a cabin of the vehicle; and a controller configured to receive a position signal indicative of the position of a first user's head in the vehicle and to output to a first binaural device, according to the first position signal, a first spatial audio signal, such that the first binaural device produces a first spatial acoustic signal perceived by the first user as originating from a first virtual source location within the vehicle cabin, wherein the first spatial audio signal comprises at least an upper range of a first content signal, wherein the controller is further configured to drive the plurality of speakers with a driving signal such that a first bass content of the first content signal is produced in the vehicle cabin.
ACOUSTIC SYSTEM WITH SPATIAL EFFECT
An acoustic system (1) for diffusing sound from N channels (Si) comprising audio frequencies, N being greater than or equal to two, the acoustic system comprising a frame (5), M loudspeakers (HPj) which are similar to each other and mounted on the frame (5), and a processing unit (20) designed to send M loudspeaker signals (SSj) to the loudspeakers respectively.
The loudspeakers are arranged at an angle about an axis (Z), two successive loudspeakers forming an angle (a) substantially equal to 360° divided by M.
The processing unit (20) comprises a splitter (28) configured to produce the loudspeaker signals (SSj), each loudspeaker signal comprising the same shared bass component (SS.sub.LF) in which audio frequencies that are higher than a first predetermined frequency (f1) are non-existent or reduced, at least two of the loudspeaker signals further comprising a specific component (SS.sub.j,MF) in addition to the shared bass component and in which the audio frequencies below the first frequency are non-existent or reduced, each specific component being obtained from at least one of the channels, and at least two of the specific components being different from each other.
Systems and Methods of Adjusting Bass Levels of Multi-Channel Audio Signals
Systems and methods for adjusting bass levels of a multi-channel audio signal include, among other features, (i) receiving the multi-channel signal via a playback device; (ii) separating, from the multi-channel signal, low-frequency signals comprising frequencies less than a threshold frequency; (iii) determining electrical energies of the low-frequency signals; (iv) determining a first energy by summing the electrical energies of the low-frequency signals; (v) consolidating the low-frequency signals into a consolidated low-frequency signal; (vi) determining a second energy by determining an electrical energy of the consolidated low-frequency signal; (vii) generating a gain-adjusted low-frequency signal by adjusting a gain of the consolidated low-frequency signal based on both (a) the first energy and (b) the second energy; (viii) generating a gain-adjusted multi-channel signal by mixing the gain-adjusted low-frequency signal back into the multi-channel signal; and (ix) using the gain-adjusted multi-channel signal to play back gain-adjusted multi-channel audio content via the playback device.
