Hybrid input networked audio subwoofer
A hybrid input networked subwoofer includes a traditional line-in analog audio input for receiving analog audio content from non-networked audio source devices together with wired and/or wireless network interfaces for receiving digital audio content from one or more networked audio devices.
BASS MANAGEMENT FOR HOME THEATER
A system is provided herein that includes a hub and one or more speakers in communication with the hub and configured to transmit one or more filter parameters to the hub. The hub is configured to filter audio that is output to each respective speaker using the one or more filter parameters. A speaker selector module is configured to allow a user to select a slot based on a position of each respective speaker. The hub is operable to transmit audio signals to each of the one or more speakers as a function of the slot setting.
Audio encoding and decoding using presentation transform parameters
A method for encoding an input audio stream including the steps of obtaining a first playback stream presentation of the input audio stream intended for reproduction on a first audio reproduction system, obtaining a second playback stream presentation of the input audio stream intended for reproduction on a second audio reproduction system, determining a set of transform parameters suitable for transforming an intermediate playback stream presentation to an approximation of the second playback stream presentation, wherein the transform parameters are determined by minimization of a measure of a difference between the approximation of the second playback stream presentation and the second playback stream presentation, and encoding the first playback stream presentation and the set of transform parameters for transmission to a decoder.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR IMPROVED ACOUSTO-HAPTIC SPEAKERS
The systems and methods described herein relate to, among other things, a transducer capable of producing acoustic and tactile stimulation. The transducer includes a rigid mass element disposed on the diaphragm of a speaker. The mass element may optionally be removable and may have a mass selected such that the resonant frequency of the transducer falls within the range of frequencies present in an input electrical audio signal. The systems and methods advantageously benefits from both the fidelity and audio performance of a full-range speaker while simultaneously producing high-fidelity, adjustable and palpable haptic vibrations.
Manipulating signal flows via a controller
A method for live manipulation of signal flows via a controller. The method includes feeding in a first signal flow and a further signal flow, each having X signal flow layers, where X is greater than 2. The method further includes separating the signal flow layers from each signal flow into a respective series of sub-signal flows, related to the signal flow, as according to a predetermined ratio, where each sub-signal flow has Y sub-signal flow layers, and where Y is smaller than X. The method includes reading a desired ratio between the first signal flow and the further signal flow via a controller. The method includes merging corresponding sub-signal flows as according to the desired ratio in order to obtain a modified series of sub-signal flows. The method includes feeding out the modified series.
Acoustic system with spatial effect
An acoustic system (1) for diffusing sound from N channels (Si) comprising audio frequencies, N being greater than or equal to two, the acoustic system comprising a frame (5), M loudspeakers (HPj) which are similar to each other and mounted on the frame (5), and a processing unit (20) designed to send M loudspeaker signals (SSj) to the loudspeakers respectively. The loudspeakers are arranged at an angle about an axis (Z), two successive loudspeakers forming an angle (a) substantially equal to 360° divided by M. The processing unit (20) comprises a splitter (28) configured to produce the loudspeaker signals (SSj), each loudspeaker signal comprising the same shared bass component (SS.sub.LF) in which audio frequencies that are higher than a first predetermined frequency (f1) are non-existent or reduced, at least two of the loudspeaker signals further comprising a specific component (SS.sub.j,MF) in addition to the shared bass component and in which the audio frequencies below the first frequency are non-existent or reduced, each specific component being obtained from at least one of the channels, and at least two of the specific components being different from each other.
Immersive audio reproduction systems
Systems and methods can provide an elevated, virtual loudspeaker source in a three-dimensional soundfield using loudspeakers in a horizontal plane. In an example, a processor circuit can receive at least one height audio signal that includes information intended for reproduction using a loudspeaker that is elevated relative to a listener, and optionally offset from the listener's facing direction by a specified azimuth angle. A first virtual height filter can be selected for use based on the specified azimuth angle. A virtualized audio signal can be generated by applying the first virtual height filter to the at least one height audio signal. When the virtualized audio signal is reproduced using one or more loudspeakers in the horizontal plane, the virtualized audio signal can be perceived by the listener as originating from an elevated loudspeaker source that corresponds to the azimuth angle.
Automatic multi-channel music mix from multiple audio stems
There are disclosed automatic mixers and methods for creating a surround audio mix. A set of rules may be stored in a rule base. A rule engine may select a subset of the set of rules based, at least in part, on metadata associated with a plurality of stems. A mixing matrix may mix the plurality of stems in accordance with the selected subset of rules to provide three or more output channels.
RENDERING OF IMMERSIVE AUDIO CONTENT
The present document relates to methods and apparatus for rendering input audio for playback in a playback environment. The input audio includes at least one audio object and associated metadata, and the associated metadata indicates at least a location of the audio object. A method for rendering input audio including divergence metadata for playback in a playback environment comprises creating two additional audio objects associated with the audio object such that respective locations of the two additional audio objects are evenly spaced from the location of the audio object, on opposite sides of the location of the audio object when seen from an intended listener's position in the playback environment, determining respective weight factors for application to the audio object and the two additional audio objects, and rendering the audio object and the two additional audio objects to one or more speaker feeds in accordance with the determined weight factors. The present document further relates to methods and apparatus for rendering audio input including extent metadata and/or diffuseness metadata for playback in a playback environment.
