CONTROLLING MOBILE DEVICE CALLS, TEXT MESSAGES AND DATA USAGE WHILE OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE
20230209443 · 2023-06-29 · ·

Disclosed are a system and method of regulating mobile device communications while operating a motor vehicle. One example method may include determining a speed event indicating that a speed of the motor vehicle has performed at least one of exceeded a first threshold above which mobile device usage restriction policies are invoked and fallen below a second threshold allowing the mobile device restriction policies to be removed. The first threshold may be equal to or greater than the second threshold. As a result of obtaining the speed event, the method may also provide transmitting the speed event to a remote edge gateway server located remotely from the motor vehicle, which stores the speed event for reference purposes when determining a policy for routing a particular mobile device call, text message and/or mobile data session.

TECHNIQUES TO SUPPORT EMERGENCY CALLS WITH OVER-THE-TOP SERVICE PROVIDER

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A wireless device such as an in-vehicle system (IVS) may transmit an emergency call (eCall) message to a third party eCall server using a communication session which may be packet based or circuit based. The eCall message may include session information and telematics data. The third party eCall server may relay the session information and telematics data to a public safety answering point (PSAP). For example, the third party eCall server may generate an automatic text-to-speech message that is transmitted to the PSAP over a public communications network. In some cases, the third party eCall server may transmit a response to the wireless device including metadata based on the telematics data transmitted in the eCall message. The eCall message may also include a call-back number, and the PSAP may contact the wireless device directly using the call-back number.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for wireless communication are provided. In one aspect, an apparatus may be configured to obtain location information associated with the apparatus. The apparatus may be configured to determine routing information from the apparatus to a geographical area based on the obtained location information. The apparatus may be configured to adjust a periodicity for safety reporting based on the determined routing information.

ELECTRONIC BADGE AS A TALKING MARKER

A process uses electronic badges to convey a condition associated with an environment to an industrial vehicle. The process comprises identifying a condition in a limited, defined environment and associating the identified condition with a badge ID. The process also comprises programming an electronic badge based upon the identified condition and positioning the electronic badge within a work area of industrial vehicles. Still further, the process comprises receiving, by a processor on an industrial vehicle, information from the electronic badge including at least one of the associated badge ID and the identified condition. The information is received via a badge communicator that communicates with electronic badges that are within a predetermined range of the industrial vehicle via a first wireless communication link. The process also determines the condition from the information from the electronic badge, and controls the industrial vehicle to take a predetermined action based upon the determined condition.

Method and system for acquiring and distributing location-related information

The present application provides a method and a system for acquiring and distributing location-related information. The method includes: receiving a positioning request initiated by a first application running on a client device, wherein the positioning request includes a network address identifying the client device and a user identifier shared by the first application and a second application running on a mobile terminal; generating a positioning instruction according to the user identifier; pushing the positioning instruction to the second application running on the mobile terminal; receiving, from the mobile terminal, location information obtained when the second application running on the mobile terminal performs positioning according to the positioning instruction; identifying a plurality of search results associated with the location information; and sending the location information and the plurality of search results associated with the location information to the first application running on the client device.

Smart workstation method and system

A system and method establishing control of affordances at a workstation. The method includes the steps of storing affordance preferences in a database for a plurality of portable affordance settings that may be present at a workstation, detecting a subset of affordances present within a first zone associated with the workstation, for each detected affordance in the subset, identifying an affordance setting in the database indicating a user preference, and automatically controlling settings of at least each of the detected affordances in the subset to match the user preferences for the detected affordances.

Occlusion detection system

An occlusion detection system to perform operations that include: capturing image data that depicts an environment at a client device, the environment including a target object at a position within the environment; causing display of a presentation of the environment at the client device, the presentation of the environment including a display of the target object at the position within the environment; detecting a first attribute of the display of the target object at the client device; performing a comparison of the first attribute of the display of the target object and a second attribute associated with the target object; and detecting an occlusion based on the comparison.
