Distributed framework for resilient machine-to-machine system management

Data is received describing a local model of a first device generated by the first device based on sensor readings at the first device and a global model is updated that is hosted remote from the first device based on the local model and modeling devices in a plurality of different asset taxonomies. A particular operating state affecting one or more of a set of devices deployed in a particular machine-to-machine network is detected and the particular machine-to-machine network is automatically reconfigured based on the global model.

Devices, methods, and systems for physical contact detection for device pairing are described herein. One device includes a mechanism configured to detect physical contact between the device and a wireless device, a memory, and a processor configured to execute executable instructions stored in the memory to perform a pairing of the wireless device and the device only upon the mechanism detecting the physical contact between the device and the wireless device.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR LOW ENERGY DISCOVERY
20230016915 · 2023-01-19 · ·

A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for facilitating efficient device discovery. In regards to a method implemented by a master device, a first identifier is received from a remote source. The method also receives one or more wireless device discovery packets comprising a second identifier from a proximate device, wherein the wireless device discovery packet comprises information compliant with a short-range communication technology to advertise presence of the proximate device or information compliant with a short-range communication technology to scan for proximate devices according to proximity-based communication technology. The method then, causes, in an instance in which at least the portion of the first identifier matches at least the portion of the second identifier, a wireless short-range communication connection procedure to be initiated between the apparatus and the proximate device, wherein the wireless short-range communication connection procedure complies with the proximity-based communication technology.

Network repository function (NRF) discovery control
11706606 · 2023-07-18 · ·

Controlling Network Repository Function (NRF) during discovery within a Fifth Generation (5G) network is described. In an example, the NRF can receive, from a Network Function (NF) consumer associated with the 5G network, a request for information associated with a NF producer type. The NRF can receive, from one or more NF producers associated with the NF producer type, indications of the NF producers and the NRF can generate a list of NF producers based at least in part on the indications. The NRF can select, based at least in part on a configurable parameter, a subset of the list of NF producers and send, responsive to receiving the request, the subset of the list of NF producers to the NF consumer.

Optimized onboarding of devices in a wireless network

An apparatus, method, and computer-readable recording medium perform client optimized onboarding in a wireless network. A network controller of a gateway device determines a first received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of a new client device, receives a second RSSI of the new client device from each of one or more wireless extenders, and determines a strongest RSSI among the determined first RSSI and the received second RSSI from each of the one or more wireless extenders. The network controller of the gateway device receives an onboarding request with respect to any one or the gateway device and the one or more wireless extenders, and sends a command to proceed with an onboarding operation of the new client device to any one of the gateway device and the one or more wireless extenders having the strongest RSSI from the new client device.

Locating and identifying paired electronic devices

An electronic device, method, and a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium provide a function of locating and identifying a paired device in a wireless network. The wireless network communicatively connects a plurality of electronic devices including the electronic device and the paired device. The electronic device includes a user interface, a network interface, a hardware processor, and a non-transitory memory storing one or more programs. The hardware processor executes the programs to receive a search command using a first communication connection via the network interface. Moreover, the hardware processor executes the programs to determine whether the peer device identifying information matches identifying information of the electronic device. When the peer device identifying information matches the identifying information of the electronic device, the electronic device identifies as the paired device. Otherwise, the electronic device broadcasts to the wireless network using a second communication connection.

Methods and systems for scheduling mmWave communications among connected vehicles

A vehicle includes a processor configured to transmit a mmWave beacon signal during a probe phase of a first period; receive one or more mmWave beacon signals from one or more vehicles; generate a mmWave communication intention message for another period that is after the first period based on the received one or more mmWave beacon signals; and broadcast, during the first period, a packet including a mmWave transmission schedule for the another period generated based on the mmWave communication intention message.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MANAGING CONTINUITY OF DATA FLOW IN 5G NETWORKS

Methods and/or systems for managing continuity of data flow in 5G networks. A UE may receive a message from a 5G network in response to a PDU session establishment request. The message indicates a failure to establish a PDU session with a first DNN and a first network slice. A PDU session may be established with at least one of a second DNN and a second network slice, if the PDU session is matching with a route selection descriptor applicable to data traffic to be routed through the PDU session. A non-CIoT device may receive a message from a 5G network in response to a service request. The message may indicate failure of a service request procedure, pertaining to a PDU session, such as due to insufficient user-plane resources. The PDU session may be closed and reestablished. If there is lower layer failure in 5G, a connection may be established with a 4G network for data transfer.

METHOD, APPARATUS, AND DEVICE FOR DETERMINING PROTOCOL ARCHITECTURE
20230021273 · 2023-01-19 ·

A method, apparatus, and device for determining protocol architecture are provided. The method includes: receiving a target message from a second device, where the target message carries first information; and determining, based on the first information and second information, whether to establish a communication connection to the second device, where the first information is used to indicate architecture information of a first protocol architecture that the second device currently supports and/or prefers, and the second information is used to indicate architecture information of a second protocol architecture that a first device currently supports and/or prefers.

METHODS, APPARATUSES AND SYSTEMS DIRECTED TO A CHANGE OF WTRU TO WTRU RELAY

Methods, apparatuses, systems, etc., directed to performing a change of relay are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a WTRU may transmit a link modification request message to a target WTRU via a first relay WTRU for requesting a change of relay.
