ACCESS POINT WITH LIMITED FLASH MEMORY
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for an access point (AP) that does not use a flash memory for some storage (e.g., storing software images, logs, data, and other content used or generated by the AP) and file system operations (e.g., reading and writing dynamic files used by the AP). A method that may be performed, by an AP having a limited amount of flash memory, includes downloading a system image from a network entity, other than the AP, via a wireless network connection; and providing wireless local area network (WLAN) AP services using the downloaded system image.
Node and method for managing a packet data network connection
Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a Serving Gateway, a core network node and a Policy Control and Charging Rules Function, as well as corresponding methods therein, for managing a Packet Data Network connection of a wireless device.

Data replication
A method of data replication in a distributed storage system of a mobile communications network is disclosed. The distributed storage system comprises a plurality of geographically separated storage locations. The method comprises, at a first storage location: receiving a first request for data stored in the distributed storage system; determining, based on the first request, further, different, data to be stored at the first storage location; determining a second, different, storage location, of the plurality of storage locations, at which the determined further data is stored; sending, to the determined second storage location, a replication request for replicating the determined further data; receiving, in response to the replication request, the further data; and storing the further data such that the further data is replicated at the first storage location in advance of a further request for the further data being received at the first storage location. Apparatus is also disclosed.
Handling of PDCP duplication and data recovery in new radio access technology
In accordance with the example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to performing determining, by a device of a communication network, that at least one PDCP PDU of a PDCP sublayer is duplicated for transmission over at least one logical channel; signaling to an RLC sublayer an indication of the at least one PDCP PDU that is duplicated; and based on the signaling, controlling duplication of the at least one PDCP PDU for transmission over the at least one logical channel. Further, performing receiving, at a device of a communication network, an indication through a received signaling indicating that at least one PDCP PDU of a PDCP sublayer is to be duplicated; determining to duplicate the at least one PDCP PDU; duplicating the at least one PDCP PDU based on the determination; and transmitting the duplicated PDCP PDU over at least one logical channel.

Power efficient operation at significant locations
A device and method for a user equipment (UE) to implement power savings mechanisms when operating within a significant location. The UE identifies that the UE is at a significant location. The significant location is a location relative to a currently camped cell of a network. At a first time and at the significant location, the UE performs a type of operation related to the network connection. The UE stores information corresponding to the performance of the type of operation at the first time in a profile associated with the significant location. At a second time and at the significant location, the UE performs the type of operation related to the network connection. The performance of the type of operation at the second time is modified based on the information stored in the profile associated with the significant location.

Mechanisms for service recovery in neighbor awareness network (NAN)
Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing wireless devices. A service is provided by a first application operating on a publisher device to a second application operating on a subscriber device over a first data path between the two devices in a NAN network. The publisher device includes a first recovery manager to receive an indication from a wireless controller of the publisher device or a distress message from a second recovery manager of the subscriber device. The received indication or distress message indicates that the first data path has been interrupted. The first recovery manager stores, in a memory, data generated by the first application. A second data path is established between the publisher device and the subscriber device. The first recovery manager sends the stored data to the second application that operates on a subscriber device.
