SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING LOCATIONS OF ACCESS POINTS

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media may determine location-related data for a plurality of access points located in an area in communication with a network by determining that a plurality of access points in a network are associated with a same geographical area including identifying, from among the plurality of access points, a first access point associated with the geographical area, determining first location-related data for the first access point, determining second location-related data for a second access point of the plurality of access points, the second access point being interior to the first access point within the network based at least in part on a determination that the second access point has at least a threshold number of the neighbor access points, and exchanging ranging data indicative of a first relative distance between the first access point and the second access point, the ranging data based at least in part on ranging message exchange measurements.

DETERMINING LOCATIONS OF DEPLOYED ACCESS POINTS

A network management system (NMS) automatically determines locations of deployed access points (APs) in a wireless network. The system identifies clusters of APs, wherein each AP in a cluster is a member of at least one robust quad, and wherein each robust quad in the cluster has three APs in common with another robust quad in the cluster. The NMS identifies one of the plurality of clusters as a gxlobal cluster and the remaining plurality of clusters as local clusters. The NMS determines coordinates of each node in the global cluster based on the coordinates of the anchor APs in the global coordinate system. For each local cluster, the NMS transforms the coordinates of each AP from the respective local coordinate system to the global coordinate system.

RAN PLANNING USING GRID-BASED OPTIMIZATION

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a process for selecting equipment locations such as of cellular antennas, based on a combination of a geospatial grid representation of a planning area and optimization algorithms (which can be combined with propagation models and a 3D model of the world) where the optimization algorithm can select a deployment from a large space of options and would make RAN planning much more efficient. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A wireless internet monitoring system comprising an application on a plurality of mobile devices recording the strength of a wireless internet signal received at a mobile device along with a GPS coordinates of the mobile device at time of said recording , wherein said application transmits the monitored signal strength along with said GPS coordinates to a backend application executed on a server. The backend application consolidates the monitored signal strength and said GPS coordinates with one or more previously monitored signal strength and GPS coordinate and preparing a geographical map of the monitored signal strength to be displayed by the application on the mobile device.

RADIO FREQUENCY SCANNER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MOBILE NETWORK TESTING

The present disclosure relates to a RF scanner system for mobile network testing. The scanner system comprises a switched directional antenna assembly, an RF receiver, and a positioning antenna assembly. The assembly includes several directional antennas oriented in different directions. The directional antennas are connected to at least one switch that is controlled by the RF receiver. The assembly is configured to receive a GNSS signal. The RF receiver is configured to receive the GNSS signal from the assembly. The RF receiver is configured to record information of the switching state of the switch. The RF receiver is configured to gather information of the position and/or bearing. The RF receiver is configured to combine the information of the switching state, a baseband signal and the information of the position and/or bearing, thereby generating output metadata. Further, a method of mobile network testing is described.
