RADIO LINK MONITORING OR BEAM FAILURE DETECTION RELAXATION
20230217283 · 2023-07-06 ·

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a network node, configuration information including an indication of relaxation criteria and one or more relaxation parameters associated with radio link monitoring (RLM) or beam failure detection (BFD) relaxation. The UE may apply RLM or BFD relaxation in accordance with the one or more relaxation parameters based at least in part on a determination that the relaxation criteria are satisfied. Numerous other aspects are described.

MOBILE TERMINATING DEVICE READINESS

Methods and systems are disclosed for implementing a cellular network readiness check between a mobile originator and a mobile terminator for connecting calls and messages. A network communicates push notifications to a device and receives indications of a readiness of that device to participate in a testing scenario. Additionally, within the testing scenario, push notifications are used to communicate expectations of a test communication session to a mobile terminating device and to determine if test outcomes matched expectations.

SMART INTERFACE SELECTION

A system and method for selecting a network interface for a communication device having at least two radio physical interface, to improve communications by the communication device. A configuration of the communication device is determined, where a first radio physical interface is designated as a primary interface and active, and a second radio physical interface as idle. A networking subsystem of the operating system executes a state machine configured to monitor network conditions and associated performance parameters of the at least two radio physical interfaces, to automatically outrank the second radio physical interface over the first radio physical interface as the primary interface.

METHODS FOR REDUCING COMPLEXITY WITH COUNTING CONTROL CHANNEL CANDIDATES AND CONTROL CHANNEL ELEMENTS
20230217278 · 2023-07-06 ·

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration of a set of search space sets for a downlink control channel. The UE may determine a quantity of downlink control channel units (e.g., downlink control channel elements, downlink control channel candidates) for monitoring over the set of search space sets, where downlink control channel units that overlap may be counted separately. For instance, the downlink control channel units may overlap in time and frequency and/or may have a same associated payload size and associated set of control channel elements. The UE may monitor the downlink control channel according to a subset of the set of search space sets, where the subset excludes one or more of the set of search space sets based on the quantity of downlink control channel units satisfying a threshold.

ADAPTIVE RADIO ACCESS NETWORK BIT RATE SCHEDULING
20230217313 · 2023-07-06 ·

The described technology is generally directed towards adaptive radio access network bit rate scheduling. Minimum bit rates for user equipment can be adjusted in a manner that accounts for the impact of the minimum bit rates on network performance. Ranges of minimum bit rates can be established for user equipment, and minimum bit rates can be adjusted within the ranges. A minimum bit rate can be decreased when it produces a relatively higher impact on network performance, and the minimum bit rate can be increased when it produces a relatively lower impact on network performance.
