Various embodiments are generally directed to improved channel quality information feedback techniques. In one embodiment, for example, an evolved node B (eNB) may comprise a processor circuit, a communication component for execution by the processor circuit to receive a channel quality index for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), the channel quality index associated with a defined reference resource, and a selection component for execution by the processor circuit to select a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for transmission over the PDSCH of user equipment (UE) data in one or more resource blocks, the selection component to compensate for a difference between a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) overhead of the defined reference resource and a CRS overhead of the one or more resource blocks when selecting the MCS. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by a wireless device in a wireless communication system comprises: receiving a configuration on measurements and reporting of reordering statistics; measuring a reordering delay (RD); calculating the reordering statistics; and sending a radio resource control (RRC) message including the reordering statistics based on a pre-defined condition.

Multi-user null data packet (NDP) ranging

A first communication device prompts a plurality of second communication devices to transmit, during a contiguous time period reserved for a range measurement exchange, respective first null data packets (NDPs) at respective times. The first communication device receives first NDPs from at least some of the second communication devices during the contiguous time period, and transmits one or more second NDPs to the plurality of second communication devices. The first communication device uses reception of the first NDPs and transmission of the one or more second NDPs to determine respective ranges between the first communication device and respective second communication devices.

Multi-user null data packet (NDP) ranging

A first communication device prompts a plurality of second communication devices to transmit, during a contiguous time period reserved for a range measurement exchange, respective first null data packets (NDPs) at respective times. The first communication device receives first NDPs from at least some of the second communication devices during the contiguous time period, and transmits one or more second NDPs to the plurality of second communication devices. The first communication device uses reception of the first NDPs and transmission of the one or more second NDPs to determine respective ranges between the first communication device and respective second communication devices.

The existing spatial reuse is improved to take into account receive beamforming capabilities at the access points. Furthermore, an approach is presented to gather the channel information in an efficient manner and enhance the triggering procedures to allow stations from overlapping cells to access the channel, during the transmit opportunities or resource units allocated to other users.
