Methods and apparatuses for performing random access procedures
A method performed by an apparatus of wireless communications is provided. The method includes receiving a plurality of Random Access (RA) configurations associated with a set of Bandwidth Parts (BWPs), selecting a first BWP from the set of BWPs to perform an RA procedure, and selecting a first Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) associated with the first BWP. The first SSB may be configured with a first RA resource. The method further includes transmitting a first RA preamble using the first RA resource and setting the first BWP as a first-activated BWP when the RA procedure is successfully performed.
User equipment and base station participating in packet duplication during handover for NR
The present disclosure relates to a source base station. The source base station comprises a processing circuitry that generates a user equipment packet duplication status. The user equipment packet duplication status includes information on the status of uplink packet duplication performed by a user equipment with the source base station and at least one further base station. The information on the status of uplink packet duplication is per uplink radio bearer, one or more uplink radio bearers being established between the user equipment and the source base station. The source base station further comprises a transmitter that transmits the user equipment packet duplication status to a target base station which is the target of a handover from the source base station performed for the user equipment.
RADIO LINK SETUP SIGNALING IN CELLULAR SYSTEM
This document discloses a solution for providing a terminal device with one or more candidate cells for link setup. A network node providing the candidate cell(s) may compute a validity window for each candidate cell and indicate the validity window(s) to the terminal device. The terminal device may then perform the link setup with a candidate cell within the respective
Mobility management for RRC_INACTIVE user equipment
A method for radio access net work (RAN) based notification area (RNA) update for an RRC_INACTIVE user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The method includes initiating, by the RRC_INACTIVE UE, an RNA update procedure, when the RRC_INACTIVE UE is moving from a first base station to a second base station; and receiving, by the RRC_INACTIVE UE, the updated RNA, from at least one of a core network (CN), the first base station and the second base station.
Method and apparatus for performing random access in a mobile communication system
The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for performing random access in a user equipment for a small cell e-NB with a small cell service area in heterogeneous e-NB cell carrier integration (dual connectivity or inter-eNB carrier aggregation) in mobile communication systems. In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, a method for performing random access in a mobile communication system is provided. The method includes receiving a configuration request message for configuring a Serving Cell Group (SCG) from a second eNB located in a service area of a first eNB through the first eNB; configuring an SCG cell based on the configuration request message, and sending a configuration response message in response to the configuration request message to the second eNB through the first eNB; and performing random access if there is uplink data present on a logic channel (LCH) relocated into the SCG cell.
COMMUNICATIONS WITH A MOBILE VIRTUAL BASE STATION
Methods and systems are provided for creating and managing virtual base stations in communication systems. A communication system may include a plurality of fixed base stations. A virtual base station may be created dynamically, with the creating including configuring communications of the virtual base stations to appear as originating from same base station regardless of the actual fixed base station handling communicating of signals of the virtual base station. Operation of the virtual base station may then be managed, with the managing including, continually, detecting movement of one or more mobile communication devices connected to the virtual base station, selecting one of the plurality of fixed base stations based on the movement of the one or more mobile communication devices, and assigning the virtual base station to the selected one of the plurality of fixed base stations.
User Equipment Handover Method and Device
Embodiments provide a user equipment handover method, and a device. In embodiments of the present invention, when a handover is to be performed, user equipment may send first information that is used to request a handover, and then a destination network device may allocate a first uplink resource to the user equipment.
CHANNEL QUALITY INFORMATION FEEDBACK TECHNIQUES
Various embodiments are generally directed to improved channel quality information feedback techniques. In one embodiment, for example, an evolved node B (eNB) may comprise a processor circuit, a communication component for execution by the processor circuit to receive a channel quality index for a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), the channel quality index associated with a defined reference resource, and a selection component for execution by the processor circuit to select a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) for transmission over the PDSCH of user equipment (UE) data in one or more resource blocks, the selection component to compensate for a difference between a cell-specific reference signal (CRS) overhead of the defined reference resource and a CRS overhead of the one or more resource blocks when selecting the MCS. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Method and terminal for random access to small cell
The present invention relates to a method for random access to a small cell by means of a terminal. The method can include the steps of: receiving a plurality of settings for a random access preamble; selecting one of the plurality of settings; and transmitting the random access preamble according to the one selected setting. Here, a resource on which the random access preamble can be transmitted can be provided in plurality in one subframe, and the preamble transmitted on each resource is distinguishable.
Handoff procedure in a mobile communication system
The invention relates to an improved handover procedure for a mobile terminal. Under control of the target base station, the mobile terminal is to perform a handoff to a target base station, wherein it is to be configured for communication with the target base station via a target radio cell comprising a downlink carrier and an uplink carrier. The mobile terminal receives a handoff command message for the handoff to the target base station including a handoff execution condition as trigger for executing handoff to the target base station. Then, the mobile terminal determines, based on the received handoff execution condition, whether or not the mobile terminal is to trigger execution of the handoff to the target base station. In case the mobile terminal determines that it is to trigger execution of the handoff to the target base station, the mobile terminal executes the handoff to the target base station.
