Handover method in wireless communication system and apparatus therefor

According to one aspect of the present invention, a method for supporting a user equipment (UE) handover of a target (T)-access and mobility management function (AMF) in a wireless communication system may comprise the steps of: receiving a UE context creation request message from a source (S)-AMF, wherein the UE context creation request message includes packet data unit (PDU) session identifiers (ID) as a handover target and single (S)-network slice selection assistance information (NSSAI) corresponding to each PDU session ID; determining whether the corresponding S-NSSAI is valid in the T-AMF; and sending, to a session management function (SMF), a PDU session update session management (SM) context request message only for a PDU session ID that corresponds to the S-NSSAI determined to be valid according to the determination result, out of the PDU session IDs.

Multi-Parent Resource Coordination for Inter-Donor Migration for Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB)

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, performing resource coordination to support integrated access and backhaul (IAB) link migration events in 5G new radio (NR) networks. Migration events may be a result of any factor including handovers, secondary cell changes, or radio link failures. Coordination may be achieved by an IAB node configuring or reconfiguring a distributed unit (DU) to be compatible with a backhaul link of a second IAB node. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Intra-RAT handovers with core network change

Methods and apparatus are provided for handover of a UE from a source node connected to a first core network to a target node connected to a second core network. The UE receives, from the source node, a mobility command including an indication of the radio access technology (RAT) used by the target node and a message container containing configuration information for the target node. The UE further determines, based on the indication of the RAT used by the target node, whether to treat the handover as an inter-RAT handover or as an intra-RAT handover with a core network change, and performs a radio resource control procedure for one of an inter-RAT handover or an intra-RAT handover with a core network change based on the determination.

Cloud delivered access

Cloud delivered access may be provided. A network device may provide a client device with a pre-authentication virtual network and a pre-authentication address. Next, a policy may be received in response to the client device authenticating. The client device may then be moved to a post-authentication virtual network based on the policy. A post-authentication address may then be obtained for the client device in response to moving the client device to a post-authentication virtual network. Traffic for the client device may then be translated to the post-authentication address.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDOVER

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatuses for handover. A method at a first access and mobility management entity comprises obtaining at least one authentication and authorization status for a terminal device for at least one network slice of a network. The method further comprises sending the at least one authentication and authorization status for the terminal device for at least one network slice of the network to a second access and mobility management entity during a handover procedure.

Route Configuration Method and Apparatus

This application provides a route configuration method and an apparatus, and relates to the field of communications technologies. The method includes: After a first terminal moves out of a service scope of a UPF that currently provides a service for the first terminal, a first SMF inserts a first I-UPF into a user plane path of the first terminal, and configures, for the first I-UPF, a first routing rule corresponding to a second terminal. The first routing rule is used to send a packet whose destination address information is address information of the second terminal to a second A-UPF. Therefore, a packet whose destination address information is the address information of the second terminal can be directly forwarded by the first I-UPF to the first A-UPF, instead of being forwarded by the first I-UPF to the second A-UPF through the first A-UPF.

Indicating a packet data unit session as unavailable

Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for indicating a packet data unit session as unavailable. One apparatus includes a processor that determines that at least one packet data unit session is unavailable. The apparatus includes a transmitter that transmits information indicating that the at least one packet data unit session is to be released.

INTER-PAN LOAD/SIZE BALANCING CONTROLLED BY ENROLLMENT PRIORITY IN LLNS

In one embodiment, a method comprises: first determining, by a controller, a target load for each of at least first and second wireless data networks rooted by respective first and second root network devices; second determining, by the controller, that at least a prescribed minimum number of network devices attached within the first wireless data network need to migrate from the first wireless data network to the second wireless data network based on the respective target loads; and causing, by the controller, the prescribed minimum number of network devices to migrate from the first wireless data network to the second wireless data network, based on the controller sending to the first and second root network devices enrollment priorities to be advertised by the first and second root network devices, respectively.
