CORE NETWORK SELECTION METHOD, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEM
Embodiments provide a core network selection method, an apparatus, and a system. The method includes the following steps: obtaining first dedicated core network (DCN) information from an access network device, where the first DCN information includes information about at least one DCN that can be accessed by the access network device. The method also includes selecting a to-be-accessed DCN from the at least one DCN according to the first DCN information, and sending information about the to-be-accessed DCN to the access network device, so that the access network device determines a core network device according to the information about the to-be-accessed DCN.
Voice service client device
A mobile device capable of connecting to a voice service using Voice over LTE (VoLTE) via a cellular network and Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) via a wireless local area network is connected to VoWiFi and arranged to receive notifications from a wireless access point when the voice service via VoWiFi is disrupted and to disconnect from VoWiFi and connect to VoLTE to maintain the voice service. The mobile device is operable to test the connection to the cellular network and if the cellular network connection is insufficient to support VoLTE, the mobile device ignored the notification and remains connected to VoWiFi.
Signal strength measurement method and device
The present disclosure describes methods, devices, and systems for signal strength measurement. An example method includes: broadcasting, by a first relay device, a first message, wherein the first message is used by a first remote device to discover the first relay device; establishing, by the first relay device, a connection to the first remote device; and sending, by the first relay device, a second message, wherein the second message is used by the first remote device to measure signal strength of a link between the first remote device and the first relay device.
Cell Handover Method and Terminal Device
A terminal device may determine that no data service has been received within a preset-duration. The terminal device further determines that a radio resource control (RRC) connection is not released when no data service is received within the preset duration. The terminal device performs a handover from the first cell to the second cell upon determining that the RRC connection is not released.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING VARIED DATA LIMITS TO VARIED WIRELESS DEVICES USING THE SAME VEHICLE HOTSPOT
A system includes a wireless transceiver providing access to primary and secondary hotspot in-vehicle networks and a vehicle processor. The vehicle processor monitors data usage on the secondary hotspot network, and, responsive to the data usage exceeding a predefined data limit, throttles a data transfer rate of the secondary hotspot network in a predefined manner, while leaving the primary hotspot network unconstrained.

Machine-to-machine (M2M) terminal, base station, method, and computer readable medium
A Machine-to-machine (M2M) terminal (11) comprises a radio communication unit (111) and a controller (112). The radio communication unit (111) is configured to communicate with a base station (13). The controller (112) is configured to change at least one of a cell selection operation, a cell reselection operation, and a handover operation according to whether a specific coverage enhancement processing is required or according to whether the specific coverage enhancement processing is supported by at least one of a cell (13) in which the M2M terminal (11) camps on and a neighbouring cell (14) of the cell (13) which the M2M terminal (11) camps on. It is thus possible to provide an improved technique for allowing the M2M terminal that is supporting a special coverage enhancement processing for M2M terminals to camp on an appropriate cell.

COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM
A user communications device having active and idle states operates in a cellular communications network in which user communications devices communicate via network communications devices of cells of the network. History data identifying the cells in which the user communications device has been present whilst in the idle state is maintained. This history data is used by the user communications device or by a network communications device to enable adjustment of cell selection/reselection parameters for the user communications device in the active state.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDLING BACKHAUL LINK FAILURE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to method and apparatus for handling backhaul link failure in wireless communications. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by a first wireless device in a wireless communication system comprises: detecting a failure of a backhaul link; performing a backhaul recovery attempt upon detecting the failure of the backhaul link; and transmitting a recovery notification to a second wireless device based on a determination that the backhaul recovery attempt succeeds.
