METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR HANDLING BACKHAUL LINK FAILURE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to method and apparatus for handling backhaul link failure in wireless communications. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by a first wireless device in a wireless communication system comprises: detecting a failure of a backhaul link; performing a backhaul recovery attempt upon detecting the failure of the backhaul link; and transmitting a recovery notification to a second wireless device based on a determination that the backhaul recovery attempt succeeds.
Machine-to-machine (M2M) terminal, base station, method, and computer readable medium
A Machine-to-machine (M2M) terminal (11) comprises a radio communication unit (111) and a controller (112). The radio communication unit (111) is configured to communicate with a base station (13). The controller (112) is configured to change at least one of a cell selection operation, a cell reselection operation, and a handover operation according to whether a specific coverage enhancement processing is required or according to whether the specific coverage enhancement processing is supported by at least one of a cell (13) in which the M2M terminal (11) camps on and a neighbouring cell (14) of the cell (13) which the M2M terminal (11) camps on. It is thus possible to provide an improved technique for allowing the M2M terminal that is supporting a special coverage enhancement processing for M2M terminals to camp on an appropriate cell.

Base station grouping for topology hiding
A method for topology hiding is disclosed, comprising: receiving, at a gateway, the gateway positioned between a core network and a radio access network, a configuration information request from a base station; analyzing, at the gateway, a topology of the radio access network, the radio access network including the base station; grouping, at the gateway, the base station into a first group based on the topology; sending, from the gateway to the base station, a grouping message to indicate that the base station be placed in the first group; and terminating connections from the core network to one or more base stations in the first group at the gateway as a back-to-back proxy, thereby hiding the topology of the radio access network from the core network.
Methods of efficient handover and reselection to a home ENODEB using user equipment motion
Methods and apparatuses for serving cell management of a user equipment (UE) are presented. Particularly, methods and apparatuses are presented for suppressing a serving cell change based on a speed of the UE. For instance, an example method is presented for serving cell management that may include determining that a serving cell change condition exists for an initiation of a serving cell change for the UE, wherein the serving cell change comprises changing a serving cell of the UE from a macro cell to a low power cell. In addition, the example method may include obtaining a speed of the UE and suppressing the initiation of the serving cell change based on the speed of the UE.
RADIO COMMUNICATION TERMINAL DEVICES AND METHODS FOR RANDOM ACCESS
A terminal apparatus includes processing circuitry to duplicate a transmission packet to generate duplicated transmission packets and to assign the duplicated transmission packets to a subcarrier resource for a random access channel. A transmitter in the terminal transmits the duplicated transmission packets using the subcarrier resource for the random access channel.
Licensed shared access (LSA) spectrum controller
Embodiments use the principles of self-organizing networks to allocate resources to allow spectrum owners to share spectrum with wireless carriers according to defined license conditions. A spectrum licensee holds the licensing conditions of the spectrum licensed by the spectrum owners. This licensed spectrum is referred to as secondary spectrum. A self-organizing network server requests access to secondary spectrum. The spectrum licensee grants access to the secondary spectrum along with the licensing conditions for access. The self-organizing network server monitors the conditions associated with the license and/or delegates the responsibility for monitoring conditions associated with the license to others. When the license conditions are met, enhanced Node B systems may begin using the secondary spectrum according to the license conditions. When the license conditions are no longer met, enhanced Node B systems discontinue use of the secondary spectrum.
REDUCING INTERFERENCE FROM DEVICES AT EXTRAORDINARY ALTITUDES
The invention provides a method of reducing interference in a mobile communication system caused by a first user equipment, UE, device operating in a cell at a significantly higher altitude than other UE devices in the cell so as to cause interference, the method comprising detecting that the first UE device is operating at an altitude considered by the mobile communication system to be an extraordinary altitude; and reducing interference caused by the first UE device operating at the extraordinary altitude by controlling the operation of the first UE device.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING HANDOVER SUPPORT INFORMATION IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
An apparatus and method for providing handover support information in a mobile communication system are provided. A method for an Base Station (BS) to provide information necessary for measurement report trigger performance to a Mobile Station (MS) after the MS determines neighboring BSs in a mobile communication system includes, in a case where the MS is an active mode MS, providing a Time To Trigger (TTT) independently by a specific neighboring BS to the active mode MS and, in a case where the MS is an idle mode MS, providing a reselection time period (Treselection) independently by the specific neighboring BS to the idle mode MS.
