METHODS PROVIDING INFORMATION MESSAGES INCLUDING RACH REPORTS AND RELATED WIRELESS DEVICES
A wireless device registers with a first PLMN having a first PLMN identity. A first plurality of RA procedures is performed while registered with the first PLMN. First information related to the first plurality of RA procedures is stored. The wireless device registers with a second PLMN having a second PLMN identity different than the first PLMN identity after registering with the first PLMN and after performing the first plurality of RA procedures. The first information is discarded responsive to registering with the second PLMN. A second plurality of RA procedures is performed while registered with the second PLMN. Second information related to the second plurality of RA procedures is stored. An information message is transmitted to the second PLMN. The information message includes a plurality of RACH reports corresponding to the second plurality of RA procedures based on the second information.
METHODS FOR ENHANCING SERVICE CONTINUITY BETWEEN A WIRELESS DEVICE AND A SECOND NETWORK, RELATED CORE NETWORK NODES, AND RELATED WIRELESS DEVICES
Disclosed is a method performed by a first core network node, for enhancing service continuity between a wireless device and a second network via a first network, wherein the first core network node is part of the first network. The method comprises receiving, from the wireless device and/or from a second core network node of the first network, control signalling indicating that the wireless device requires that a tunnel between the wireless device and the second network and via a gateway of the first network is maintained. The method comprises controlling a radio access network node and/or the gateway based on the control signalling and a capability of the first core network node of the first network to maintain the tunnel.
MULTI-PLMN MUSIM FOR TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS
There is provided an apparatus, said apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including a computer program code, the at least one memory and computer program code configured to, with the at least one processor, cause the apparatus at least to: at a user equipment, the user equipment having a first universal subscriber identity module, USIM, associated with a first network and at least one second USIM associated with a second network, provide an indication from the at least one second USIM to the second network that paging notifications for the second network are to be provided to the first USIM of the user equipment via the first network, receive a paging notification for the second network at the first USIM of the user equipment via the first network and provide the paging notification from the first USIM to the second USIM in the user equipment.
MULTIPLE SUBSCRIPTION ENTITIES IN A USER DEVICE
To facilitate multiple subscription entities in a user device, solutions enabling use of an established wireless signaling connection between a network and a subscription entity to establish further wireless signaling connection(s) between the network and one or more other subscription entities are disclosed.
TECHNIQUES FOR ANTENNA-SWITCHED DIVERSITY AND MULTI-SIM CONCURRENT OPERATION MANAGEMENT
Wireless communication techniques for antenna-switched diversity and multi-SIM concurrent operation management are discussed. A UE may communicate via a transmission path associated with a first subscriber identification module (SIM). The transmission path may be mapped to one of a first one or more antennas in accordance with a determination as to whether the UE supports at least one of frequency-division duplex (FDD) antenna-switched diversity or time-division duplex (TDD) antenna-switched diversity when concurrently performing wireless communication associated with the first SIM and wireless communication associated with a second SIM. The UE may also communicate via at least one reception path associated with the second SIM. The at least one reception path may be mapped to a second one or more antennas in accordance with the determination as to whether the UE supports at least one of FDD antenna-switched diversity or TDD antenna-switched diversity.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING NON-ACCESS STRATUM CONTEXT
A method for processing a non-access stratum context is as follows: A terminal device sends a registration request message to a first public land mobile network PLMN. The terminal device receives a registration accept message from the first PLMN. When the terminal device deregisters from the first PLMN over a first access network, the terminal device stores, in a storage medium of the terminal device, a first PLMN identifier of the first PLMN and a first NAS security context established by the terminal device with the first PLMN. Embodiments of this application are used for a processing process of the non-access stratum context.
PEIPS APPLICABILITY CONSIDERING NON-3GPP REGISTRATION
A method of handling Paging Early Indication with Paging Subgrouping (PEIPS) assistance information when a UE is registered to the same or different PLMN/SNPN networks is proposed. The PEIPS assistance information includes PEIPS parameters such as a PEIPS subgroup ID that is used by the UE for monitoring paging with PEIPS for power saving. If the UE registers to the same PLMN/SNPN via 3GPP access and non-3GPP access, then the UE handles the PEIPS parameters as one common parameters. If the UE registers to different PLMN/SNPN via 3GPP access and non-3GPP access, then the UE handles the PEIPS parameters as two independent parameters.
Method and system of managing voice call and IP media sessions in a wireless network environment
A network entity and an operating method thereof in a communication system are provided. The method includes establishing a first connection with a user equipment (UE) using a first access technology; receiving, from the UE, via the first connection, capability information on communication with a second cell using a second access technology different from the first access technology; transmitting a first signal to the UE via the first connection; and transmitting, to the UE, via the first connection, configuration information related to the second cell for establishing a second connection between the UE and the second cell. The first cell and the second cell are simultaneously active for the UE.
System enablers for multi-sim devices
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for high data mode operation in cellular networks. A UE may determine, for an interface to a high-speed cellular network, a categorization from a plurality of categorizations, determine availability of the high-speed cellular network, and select, based at least in part on the categorization and availability of the high-speed cellular network, the interface for a data connection to the high-speed cellular network. The categorization may be one of expensive or not expensive and/or one of a first level associated with a higher compression codec rate or a second level associated with a lower compression codec rate. The UE may receive, from one of the a low-speed cellular network or the high-speed cellular network, carrier plan information for a cellular data service carrier and analyze the carrier plan information to determine desirability of a switch, e.g., from the low-speed cellular network to the high-speed cellular network.
