GNSS VALIDITY REPORT IN IOT NTN

This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for GNSS validity reporting in NTNs. A UE may transmit, to a network entity, a report of a validity duration for GNSS tracking information. The GNSS tracking information may be associated with an NTN including the UE and the network entity. The report may include an indication of a remaining time period of the validity duration based on a threshold. The UE may switch to an RRC idle mode based on the report of the validity duration. The RRC idle mode may be switched to after an expiration of the remaining time period of the validity duration or based on an RRC release message received from the network entity.

Dedicated core networks (DCN) selection

The invention provides for a method of selecting a Dedicated Core Network (DCN) based on assisting indication by mobile terminals, and including the step of configuring the RAN Nodes of the mobile network with the DCN Types of the serving EPC Nodes so that the RAN Nodes can map the DCN selection assisting information from the connecting mobile terminals with the right dedicated EPC Node. This allows for the RAN Node to connect the mobile terminals with EPC Node of the mobile terminal's dedication at initial attach and then keep the mobile terminals on the same DCN. Thus, a re-routing of mobile terminals NAS message from one EPC Node to another EPC node is avoided. The invention also allows for a flexible and dynamic change of the EPC Nodes dedication based on operator's configuration and policy. Additionally, the invention allows for DCN access restriction control by broadcasting of the supported DCN Types by the RAN Node.

Devices, methods, use user equipment (UE), core network devices, evolved node B (eNB), and storage media for UE provisioning are described. In one embodiment, processing circuitry of a mobility management entity (MME) decodes a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising a detach request associated with a first user equipment (UE) and determines that the detach request is received from the UE without integrity protection. The MME then analyzes one or more additional criteria associated with the detach request in response to confirmation that the detach request message is received from the UE without the integrity protection, and manages an evolved packet system (EPS) mobility management (EMM) registration state for the first UE based on analysis of the one or more additional criteria. Various different criteria and associated EMM registration state management operations are described. Additional corresponding UE operations are also described.

Apparatus and method for managing connections in wireless communication system

Methods and apparatuses are provided in a wireless communication system. A first message is transmitted, from a master base station, to a secondary base station, for requesting the secondary base station to allocate resources for a dual connectivity (DC) operation. A second message is received from the secondary base station, after transmitting the first message. A third message is transmitted to the secondary base station, after receiving the second message. The first message includes a quality of service (QoS) flow identifier (ID) and available data radio bearer (DRB) IDs. The second message includes the QoS flow ID and a DRB ID corresponding to the QoS flow ID. The third message includes tunnel information for the DRB ID including an Internet protocol (IP) address and a tunnel endpoint identifier (TEID).

Beam selection for paging

Wireless communications for paging are described. A wireless device may use a subset of beams, among a plurality of beams, to communicate with a base station during a connected state. After a connection release, at least one beam of the subset of beams may be used for paging associated with the wireless device.
