The embodiments of the present invention relate to apparatuses and methods for resource management in a multi-carrier system wherein a plurality of component carriers (CCs) is defined per cell. According to a method in an apparatus corresponding to a radio base station, a message is assembled comprising information on the structure of the cell served by the radio base station; the information including one or more CCs used in the cell that is/are available for a user equipment for performing initial access in the cell. The method also comprises, transmitting the assembled message to the user equipment and indicating to the user equipment to what resources to use for random access in the cell. The exemplary embodiments of the present invention also relates to a method in the user equipment, to a radio base station and to a user equipment.
VEHICLE
A movable vehicle includes an access point functional unit that includes an antenna and functions as an access point by wirelessly communicating with a terminal device around the vehicle, and a notifier that notifies the surroundings that the vehicle is functioning as an access point.
NETWORK MANAGEMENT ACTIONS BASED ON ACCESS POINT CLASSIFICATION
An example system includes access point (AP) devices configured to provide a wireless network at a site; and a network management system that stores network data received from the AP devices, the network data collected by the AP devices or client devices associated with the wireless network, and one or more processors configured to: receive a time series of SLE metrics based on the network data, determine, based on the time series, whether a network event has occurred, in response to a determination that a network event has occurred, determine a root cause for the network event, and in response to a determination that the root cause of the network event is associated with an AP device, determine a classification of the AP device, and determine a network management action for the AP device based on the network event and the classification of the AP device.
Network equipment operation adjustment system
A network equipment operation adjustment system is provided herein that is configured to improve the performance of a telecommunications network by generating a network score representing the performance of a telecommunications network within a geographic region, determining one or more network equipment parameter adjustments using the network score, and causing the adjustments to occur. The network equipment operation adjustment system can further display the network score and other network scores for other geographic regions in an interactive user interface to efficiently allow a network operator to view the network performance of a telecommunications network by geographic region and/or to view how the network performance in each of the geographic regions is changing over time.
User equipment, base station, communication access method, and communication method
In user equipment for communicating with a base station in a radio communication system including the base station and the user equipment, the user equipment includes a receiver that measures received power of reference signals associated with a plurality of different identification information items, the reference signals being transmitted from the base station, and that selects a specific reference signal based on a measurement result; and a transmitter that transmits a random access signal including a preamble sequence, the preamble sequence corresponding to the identification information item of the reference signal selected by the receiver.
Method and apparatus for performing random access transmissions
A method and a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) are disclosed. The WTRU comprises a receiver, a transmitter, and a processor. The WTRU receives a system information block (SIB) including a parameter indicating a number of transmissions for a random access message and a parameter indicating transmission duration information for the random access message. The WTRU transmits a random access preamble and a random access message, wherein the random access message is transmitted for a duration indicated by the parameter indicating transmission duration information for the random access message. The WTRU retransmits the random access message, wherein the random access message is retransmitted a number of times indicated by the parameter indicating the number of transmissions for the random access message and for the duration indicated by the parameter indicating transmission duration information for the random access message.
Methods and apparatus for implementing an access point supporting multiple communications protocols
Access points can be mounted in a variety of locations or orientations and can support multiple communications protocols. In some embodiments, an access point includes a main housing and a front housing. The main and front housing are connected by a hinge. A Wi-Fi antenna is included in the front housing in some embodiments. The access point is configured for use in either an open or closed position. When mounted in a vertical position, the front housing can be lowered into a horizontal position, which facilitates a preferred orientation of an antenna with respect to the ground. A first set of cooling fins serves to maintain components of the access point offset from a wall to which the access point is mounted. This facilitates airflow. Additional fins act as a spacer between the main housing and the front housing when the access point is used in a closed position. This facilitates air flow around both sides of the main housing.

Telecommunications apparatus and methods
A method of operating a second network access node comprises configuring the second network access node to act as a secondary network access node for a dual connectivity mode for a terminal device in which a first network access node acts as a master network access node. The method further comprises establishing, while acting as a secondary network access node for the dual connectivity mode, that the second network access node should switch to acting as a master network access node, deriving a new master network access node security key for use by the second network access node when switched to acting as a master network access node for the dual connectivity mode, and configuring the second network access node to act a master network access node for the dual connectivity mode using the new master network access node security key.
Methods for handling periodic radio access network notification area (RNA) update configuration upon reject
According to an aspect, a user equipment, UE, in a suspended state in a Radio Access Network, RAN, in response to expiration of a first timer, transmits an RRCResumeRequest message. The UE receives a reject message in response to the RRCResumeRequest message. In response to the reject message, the UE starts a second timer and subsequently transmits a further RRCResumeRequest message. The further RRCResumeRequest message is received by the network during a period bounded approximately by the lesser of a duration of the second timer and a period of the periodic UE event and the greater of the duration of the second timer and the period of the periodic UE event.
