A method is provided in one example embodiment and may include configuring a slice identity for each of a plurality of virtual radio access network (vRAN) slices, wherein each vRAN slice comprises functionality to perform, at least in part, one or more radio protocol operations on subscriber traffic; configuring an allotment of radio resources that can be utilized by each vRAN slice of the plurality of vRAN slices; receiving, by a slice manager, a subscriber profile identity (SPID) for a subscriber; and mapping the SPID for the subscriber to a particular vRAN slice of the plurality of vRAN slices. The method can further include communicating the mapping for the subscriber to the particular vRAN slice to which the SPID is mapped. The method can further include communicating the allotment of radio resources that can be utilized by the particular vRAN slice to the particular vRAN slice.
Method and device for transmitting data
A method and a device for receiving transmitting data in in a wireless local area network are provided. The device receives a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) from a station over a transmission bandwidth and determines whether the station is a member of a basic service set (BSS) managed by the device based on the PPDU. When the PPDU is a multi-user (MU)-PPDU, the AP determines that the station is not a member of the BSS managed by the AP. Such MU-PPDU includes a first signal field and a second signal field, the first signal field having bandwidth information indicating the transmission bandwidth, the second signal field having user-specific information with allocation for orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ESTABLISHING A WIRELESS CONNECTION USING A SELF-POSITIONABLE WIRELESS DEVICE
A system and method for a providing a dynamic backhaul. In one example, the system includes a self-positionable wireless device (for example, a drone) including a dual-band radio configured to establish a wireless connection between the self-positionable wireless device and a wireless system. The dual-band radio initiates a narrowband wireless link with the wireless system via a first narrowband antenna of the self-positionable wireless device and a second narrowband antenna of the wireless system. A navigation system generates location, velocity and error estimate of the self-positionable wireless device. The location is transmitted to the wireless system using the narrowband wireless link. The self-positionable wireless device receives via the narrowband wireless link location, velocity and error estimate of the wireless system. The self-positionable wireless device establishes a directional broadband wireless link with the wireless system using the location, velocity and error estimate of the self-positionable wireless system and the wireless system.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTHENTICATING A USER OF A COMPUTER APPLICATION, NETWORK, OR DEVICE USING A WIRELSSS DEVICE
A method and system for authenticating a user includes providing an invocation element capable of being activated by a single user action, receiving an indication that the invocation element has been activated, obtaining a location of a wireless device associated with the user, determining whether the wireless device is associated with an authorized user, approving the user to use the application based on a predetermined location criterion, and producing an indication that the user has been authenticated.
METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING WIRELESS AP, SERVER, SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER STORAGE MEDIUM
The present disclosure discloses a method for identifying a wireless AP performed at a server. The method includes: obtaining network connection information of terminal devices; for each terminal device, determining a rank for each respective wireless AP to which the terminal device connects by: analyzing corresponding network connection information to determine a first number of times of connections between the terminal device and the wireless AP; analyzing corresponding network connection information to determine a second number of times of connections between the wireless AP and each terminal device connecting to the wireless AP; and determining the rank for the wireless AP based on a weighted average of the first number of times of connections and the second number of times of connections; and returning identifier information of wireless APs as a first-type wireless AP to which the terminal device connects and their corresponding ranks to the terminal device.
Multiplexing control information in a physical uplink data channel
For multiplexing control information in a physical uplink data channel, a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a configuration for a first set of values and receiving a downlink control information (DCI) format scheduling a transmission of a physical uplink shared data channel (PUSCH) over a set of resource elements (REs) and including a field providing an index. The method further includes determining a first value from the first set of values based on the index, determining a first subset of REs from the set of REs, for multiplexing first uplink control information (UCI), based on the first value, and transmitting the first UCI in the PUSCH.
Uplink multi-user sounding for WLAN
A WLAN AP includes an array of antennas, a transceiver and a processor. The transceiver is configured to transmit via the array of antennas downlink packets to WLAN STAs, and to receive uplink packets from the STAs. The processor is coupled to the transceiver and is configured to send a request to a plurality of the STAs to transmit a respective plurality of channel-sounding packets corresponding to the plurality of STAs, to receive the plurality of channel-sounding packets from the plurality of STAs in response to the request, to compute, based on the received plurality of channel-sounding packets, a beamforming matrix that defines subsequent transmission beams aimed toward at least a subset of the plurality of STAs, and to transmit one or more downlink data packets to one or more of the STAs via the array of antennas, in accordance with the beamforming matrix.
Protocols for multi-access point coordinated multi-user transmissions
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. An access point (AP) may transmit, to a second AP and during a first portion of a transmission opportunity (TxOP), a request to participate in a multi-user (MU) transmission. The AP may receive, from the second AP and during the first portion of the TxOP, an indication of intent to participate in the MU transmission during the second portion of the TxOP, the indication of intent including a resource request of the second AP for participation in the MU transmission. The AP may transmit, during an initial period of the second portion of the TxOP, a trigger signal to the second AP indicating a set of one or more resources for the second AP during the MU transmission. The AP may participate, in conjunction with the second AP and during the second portion of the TxOP, in the MU transmission.
