Access network collective admission control
A method for congestion mitigation via admission control in a shared-backhaul telecommunications network is disclosed, comprising: assessing a congestion state in a multi-node radio access network having a shared backhaul connection, the congestion state based on congestion of the shared backhaul connection; retrieving an admission control policy based on the congestion state of the shared backhaul connection; performing a policy action of the admission control policy at a first base station acting as a gateway for the multi-node radio access network with respect to the shared backhaul connection; and sending the admission control policy to other nodes in the multi-node radio access network, thereby causing the other nodes to perform the policy action, wherein the policy action is denying a request from a user equipment to attach to the radio access network.
Beam selection for paging
Wireless communications for paging are described. A wireless device may use a subset of beams, among a plurality of beams, to communicate with a base station during a connected state. After a connection release, at least one beam of the subset of beams may be used for paging associated with the wireless device.
Method and apparatus for sending data volume report
This application provides a method for sending a data volume report. The method includes: transmitting, by a first device, a first data volume report to a first access device when a condition for reporting a data volume is satisfied, wherein the first data volume report indicates a first uplink data volume transmitted from the first device and a second uplink data volume transmitted from a second device and received by the first device, and the condition comprises one or more of: (1) a sub-condition that at least one of the first uplink data volume or the second is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold; (2) a time period that the sub-condition is satisfied is greater than or equal to a predetermined time threshold; (3) an instruction instructing the first device to report at least one of the first uplink data volume or a data volume transmitted from the second device; (4) at least one of a plurality of connections between the first device and the first access device is disconnected; or (5) a connection between the first device and a second access device is disconnected.
Relay apparatus and relay method
A relay device for relaying communications between a plurality of radio devices that perform radio communications with a terminal and a radio control apparatus that controls the plurality of radio devices, the relay device including a plurality of signal combiners that are each provided for one of functional splitting points between the plurality of radio devices and the radio control apparatus, and are each configured to convert signal data transmitted from one of the plurality of radio devices based on a signal format in accordance with the one of the functional splitting points, and transmit the converted signal data to the radio control apparatus, and a signal switcher configured to output the signal data transmitted from the one of the plurality of radio devices, to one of the plurality of signal combiners supporting one of the functional splitting points that corresponds to the one of the plurality of radio devices.
Reliable data delivery over non-access stratum
The present disclosure is directed to method in a mobility management node and such a node for delivering data to a wireless communication device (WCD) served by the mobility management node, operating in a communication network comprising a network entity (NE) and a radio access network (RAN) node serving the WCD, the method comprises: obtaining capability information indicating whether the RAN node supports acknowledgement of a successful delivery of data to the WCD; receiving a data message sent by the NE comprising user data intended for the WCD; sending a control plane message comprising the user data to the RAN node for further delivery to the WCD; sending a response to the NE indicating the outcome of the data delivery.
Mesh-network multimode system with a software definable radio
A communication system that may be used in room and building automation. A mesh network may be associated with a room of a building, or the like. Connectivity may be provided for devices with servers and a cloud in one mode. Connectivity may be provided for devices to mobile devices and a room-level information module in another mode. These modes of connectivities of various modes may be effected with a software definable radio or radios. Other modes of connectivity may be implemented. Examples of modes may incorporate Bluetooth low energy (BLE) and non-BLE formats. The modes may be multiplexed to operate one at a time and be switched back and forth as needed.
USER EQUIPMENT (UE) ASSISTED TERMINATION SELECTION FOR NON-STANDALONE OR DUAL CONNECTIVITY
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In a wireless communications system, a user equipment (UE) may determine a preference of the UE for a termination point between a core network and a radio access network (RAN), the core network and the RAN supporting communications for the UE via at least one or a first cell and a second cell each associated with a multi-connectivity mode of the UE. The UE may transmit, to a base station, an indication of the preference of the UE for the termination point. In some cases, the base station may determine the termination point based on receiving the indication of the preference of the UE, and the base station may transmit a message indicating a configuration for the multi-connectivity mode to the UE, the configuration indicating the determined termination point.
