A heater is provided for heating an aerosol-forming substrate, the heater including: a heating element to heat the aerosol-forming substrate, the heating element including at least one positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor, the PTC thermistor being configured to be supplied with an electric current so as to heat the PTC thermistor, in which a resistance of the PTC thermistor increases when a temperature of the PTC thermistor increases within a stabilised temperature range, a lower end of the stabilised temperature range being, when a constant voltage is applied to the PTC thermistor, a reference temperature at which the resistance of the PTC thermistor is twice a value of a minimum resistance of the PTC thermistor, and in which the reference temperature is between about 100° C. and about 350° C. when a constant voltage of 3.3V is applied to the PTC thermistor.

A heater for a vaporizer with air preheating element includes a casing, a tunnel with a perforated bottom, which is a cylindrical heating chamber for placing a cigarette, a heating element of a resistive type, a heat exchanger, including air channels for circulation and preheating of air by a heater, a top end and a bottom end, an air intake hole made in the top end. Outlet holes are communicated with exits of air channels of the heat exchanger for intake of air preheated by the heater in the tunnel. The casing is made in the form of a tape of a thin-film dielectric heat-resistant material, on which a thin layer of resistive material with contacts is applied on the end of one side, forming the heating element, and on the other side a top and bottom spacers are fixed and inclined toward the middle, as well as the edging, which are made of flexible heat-resistant material. The above mentioned tape with a heating element, located on its external side, is rolled into a cylinder and forms a tunnel, and is additionally coiled into several interconnected spiral coils, and forms a spiral casing with the top and bottom ends so that the top and bottom spacers and the edging located on the inside form a spiral heat exchanger comprising the top and bottom and the middle spiral air ducts for spiral and labyrinth circulation and preheating of air, and at the bottom there is an additional inlet hole for air intake.

The heater includes a heating body, in which a space for containing an aerosol-forming matrix, configured to receive electric power from a power supply to generate heat, and transfer the heat to the aerosol-forming matrix so as to volatilize at least one component in the aerosol-forming matrix; an electrode part including a first electrode and a second electrode arranged on the heating body at intervals and electrically connected with the heating body, configured to feed the electric power to the heating body; and an electrode connector including an abutting part and an extension part; the abutting part abutting against the electrode part to be electrically connected with the electrode part, and the extension part being configured to extend the electrode part to a position far away from the heating body through electrical connection.

A cartridge for a vaporizer can include an elongated reservoir body and a plurality of longitudinally spaced heating modules configured to heat corresponding portions or zones of the reservoir body for vaporizing a vaporizable substance disposed therein. The present application discloses a heater and a smoking set including the heater. The heater includes: a base, having an inner surface and an outer surface; an infrared radiation layer, formed on the surface of the base; the infrared radiation layer is configured to generate infrared rays and at least heat an aerosol-forming matrix by radiation; a heating body arranged at the periphery of the base, and used to receive electric power from a power supply to generate heat. The heating body is configured to transfer the heat to heat the infrared radiation layer to generate the infrared rays. According to the present application, the infrared radiation layer is heated up by the heating body so that the infrared radiation layer generates infrared radiation to heat the aerosol-forming matrix, thereby reducing the preheating time of the aerosol-forming matrix and improving the user experience.

The method further includes establishing a second fluid gradient through the at least one first hole, through at least a first portion of the second reservoir, and through at least a second portion of a wick, a heater being in communication with the wick and the central passage.
