The double-switching PTC ink comprises a first resin and a second resin; the first resin provides a first PTC effect within a first temperature range (T1, T2); the second resin provides a second PTC effect within a second temperature range (T3, T4), where T3T2; the first resin has an NTC effect above the first temperature range; the second PTC effect is greater than the first PTC effect; and the second PTC effect overlaps with, and is greater than, the NTC effect of the first resin. The substrate can be either thermal polyurethane, nylon or a polyester blend.

Grounded modular heated cover

The grounded modular heated cover is disclosed with a first pliable outer layer and a second pliable outer layer, wherein the outer layers provide durable protection, an electrical heating element between the first and the second outer layers, the electrical heating element configured to convert electrical energy to heat energy, a heat spreading layer, and a thermal insulation layer positioned above the active electrical heating element. Beneficially, such a device provides radiant heat, weather isolation, temperature insulation, and solar heat absorption efficiently and cost effectively. The modular heated cover quickly and efficiently removes ice, snow, and frost from surfaces, and penetrates soil and other material to thaw the material to a suitable depth. A plurality of modular heated covers can be connected on a single 120 Volt circuit protected by a 20 Amp breaker. The modular heated covers are grounded for safety using the conductive heat spreading layer.

A heater panel includes a core and a heater/dielectric layer including a positive thermal coefficient (PTC) heater layer between a pair of dielectric layers. A structural facing is included, wherein the heater/dielectric layer is bonded directly between the core and the structural facing. A second structural facing can be bonded to the core opposite the heater/dielectric layer. An impact layer can be bonded to the structural facing, e.g., the first structural facing described above, opposite the heater/dielectric layer.

A cable includes a first wire-shaped metal conductor, a second metal conductor extending a predetermined distance away from and parallel to the first conductor, and a matrix made of a PTC material extending along the conductors, touching the latter and connecting them to one another electrically, with temperature-dependent electrical resistance and a positive temperature coefficient. At least one electrically insulating outer insulation layer surrounds the conductors and the matrix annularly. At least a third and a fourth metal conductor extend a predetermined distance away from and parallel to the first conductor, touch the matrix and are connected electrically by means of the latter to the first conductor, the second, the third and the fourth conductor being made in a wire shape and, considering the cross-section of the cable, being arranged distributed evenly over a circular track surrounding the first conductor.

A membrane system includes a base membrane and a cover membrane. The base membrane is configured to be installed between a subfloor and floor tiles to allow movement of the floor tiles relative to the subfloor. The base membrane includes a base layer and studs projecting from the base layer. The studs are configured to hold a heating cable in place when the heating cable is positioned between adjacent ones of the studs. The studs have free ends that define pockets therein. The cover membrane is configured to be coupled to the base membrane to encapsulate the heating cable between the base membrane and the cover membrane. The cover membrane includes a cover layer and studs projecting from the cover layer. The studs on the cover membrane are configured to fit within the pockets in the base membrane to couple the cover membrane to the base membrane.

ELECTRIC HEATING MAT

The invention relates to an electric surface heater, or heating mat, based on an electrically conductive polymer foil or a conductive polymer foam that only heats locally where persons, animals or objects are positioned on the mat. Energy can thereby be saved in comparison with a full-area heater. Ideally, this local heat generation functions without any external electronic control or regulation.

A heating system for a floor is provided and includes a plurality of heating devices, where each of the heating devices includes a membrane, and a plurality of heating elements and at least one electrical coupling member attached to the membrane. At least one heating device coupling member is attached to the at least one electrical coupling member on adjacent heating devices of the plurality of heating devices, where the at least one heating device coupling member conveys electricity between the adjacent heating devices.
