Apparatus and method for depositing multiple coating materials in a common plasma coating zone
09790584 · 2017-10-17 · ·

An apparatus and method for coating a substrate moved along a path of travel through the apparatus. A plasma source issues a plasma jet into which a first reagent is injected from a discharge orifice located upstream of the jet. A second reagent is injected into the jet from a discharge orifice located downstream of the jet. A controller is configured to regulate the flow of the first reagent according to a first set of parameters and regulate the flow of the second reagent according to a second set of parameters. As a result, the first and second reagents are applied to the substrate to form at least one layer of a coating on the substrate.

In a method and device for conversion of water into hydrogen peroxide (H.sub.2O.sub.2), a corona discharge zone is generated between a first electrode (10) and a second electrode (6) one of which is insulated and another of which is not insulated and wherein a respective surface of each of the electrodes face one another. The first electrode (10) is rotated so as to induce relative rotation between the first electrode and the second electrode; and liquid water is conveyed on to a surface of the first electrode facing the second electrode close to the axis of rotation (4) of the first electrode whereby the liquid water advances outward through the corona discharge zone towards a periphery of the first electrode under the action of centrifugal force caused by rotation of the first electrode.

Apparatus for producing a plasma and hand-held device having the apparatus

An apparatus for producing a plasma including a control circuit which is electrically connected to a piezoelectric transformer in order to excite the piezoelectric transformer. A hand-held device that uses the apparatus. The piezoelectric transformer is constructed of several layers. The control circuit is implemented on a circuit board, and the piezoelectric transformer is held over the circuit board by means of a region of a first end. A high voltage is applied to a second free end of the piezoelectric transformer. The plasma is produced at atmospheric pressure.

Split-ring resonator plasma source

A miniaturized plasma source includes a stripline split-ring resonator. The split-ring resonator is sandwiched between two dielectric substrates and two metal ground planes. In order to make the plasma accessible from the outside of the ground planes, a hole is made through the gap between the ends of the split ring. The two ground planes act as an electromagnetic shield, protecting the split-ring resonator from electromagnetic interference due to changes in the electric or dielectric environment surrounding it. The miniaturized plasma source is particularly useful in optogalvanic spectroscopy applications.

ETHYLENE DISPOSAL APPARATUS AND ETHYLENE DISPOSAL METHOD USING SAME

The present invention relates to an ethylene disposal apparatus comprising: a plasma discharge part having an inlet and an outlet and being filled with an adsorbent; and an electrode part for generating plasma inside the plasma discharge part, wherein the adsorbent has a catalyst supported thereon. The present invention relates to an ethylene disposal method using the ethylene disposal apparatus, the method comprising the steps of: (a) injecting ethylene-containing gas into a plasma discharge part filled with the adsorbent; (b) applying voltage to the electrode part and generating plasma in the plasma discharge part, thereby degrading the injected ethylene; and (c) cooling the plasma discharge part.

PLASMA GAS JETTING DEVICE

Plasma gas is ejected from inner gas ejection ports that are formed in a downstream side housing, and nitrogen gas is supplied as protective gas to a protective gas source between a housing and a cover section. Nitrogen gas is sucked in accompanying exhaust from inner gas ejection ports of plasma gas, and is ejected from the outer gas ejection ports. In this case, since a layer of nitrogen gas is formed in the periphery of plasma gas, it is possible to make it difficult to bring the plasma gas into contact with air, and it is possible to make it difficult to react a reactive species such as a radical in the plasma gas, oxygen in the air, and the like.
