Provided is a copper alloy for electronic and electrical equipment including: 0.15 mass % or greater and less than 0.35 mass % of Mg; 0.0005 mass % or greater and less than 0.01 mass % of P; and a remainder which is formed of Cu and unavoidable impurities, in which a conductivity is greater than 75% IACS, and an average number of compounds containing Mg and P with a particle diameter of 0.1 μm or greater is 0.5 pieces/μm.sup.2 or less in observation using a scanning electron microscope.
Copper alloy strip exhibiting improved dimensional accuracy after press-working
Provided is a Corson alloy having improved bending workability and also having high dimensional accuracy after press-working. A copper alloy strip which is a rolling material, the rolling material containing from 0 to 5.0% by mass of Ni or from 0 to 2.5% by mass of Co, the total amount of Ni+Co being from 0.2 to 5% by mass; from 0.2 to 1.5% by mass of Si, the balance being copper and unavoidable impurities, wherein the rolling material satisfies the relationship: A.sup.0/A≤1.000, in which A.sup.0 represents a projected area of an indentation remaining after carrying out a Vickers hardness test by maintaining a square pyramidal indenter for 10 seconds while applying a test force with a load of 1 kg to a surface of a base material and releasing the test force; and A represents an area connecting vertices of the indenter, and wherein the rolling material satisfies the relationship: 0.1≤I.sub.(200)/I.sub.0(200)<1.0, in which I.sub.(200) represents an X-ray diffraction intensity from a (200) plane on the surface, and I.sub.0(200) represents an X-ray diffraction intensity from a (200) plane of a pure copper powder standard sample.

SURFACE PROTECTION COMPOSITION AND TERMINAL FITTED ELECTRIC WIRE
A surface protection composition forms a uniform film, and a terminal fitted electric wire coated with the composition, the composition containing (a) a phosphorus compound represented by the formula (1) in an amount of 0.1 to 10 mass % in terms of phosphorus element, (b) a metal-containing compound in an amount of 0.1 to 10 mass % in terms of metal element or an amine compound in an amount of 0.1 to 5.0 mass % in terms of nitrogen element, (c) a (meth)acrylate compatible with a solvent with a solubility parameter of 8.2 or lower and has a hydrocarbon chain with 4 or higher carbon atoms in an amount of 1.0 to 70 mass %, and (d) at least one of a photopolymerization initiator and a thermal polymerization initiator in an amount of 0.1 to 10 mass %, with respect to the total amount of the composition.
Magnet assembly comprising closed superconducting HTS shims
A magnet assembly in a magnetic resonance apparatus includes a cryostat and a superconducting main field magnet coil system arranged therein for generating a magnetic field in the direction of a z-axis in a working volume. The magnet assembly includes a shim device arranged inside the cryostat for adjusting the spatial variation or homogeneity of the magnetic field generated in the working volume by the magnet coil system. The shim device comprises at least one closed superconducting shim conductor path having an HTS layer. The HTS layer forms a surface that is geometrically developable such that unwrapping onto a plane changes the geodesic distance between any two points on the surface formed by the HTS layer by no more than 10%. The inner and/or outer contour of the geometrical development of the HTS layer describes a non-convex curve.
Electrical contact appearance and protection
Methods of coating contacts to have a specific color. The color can be selected to match a color of a portion of a device enclosure for an electronic device housing the contacts. Examples can instead provide methods of coating contacts to have a color to contrast with a color of a portion of the device enclosure. These methods can provide electrical contacts having a low contact resistance and good corrosion and scratch resistance.
