WIRE HARNESS
Provided is an aluminum-based strand capable of suppressing corrosion caused by salt water, and a twisted wire conductor, a braided wire, and a wire harness in which the aluminum-based strand is used. The aluminum-based strand includes a strand main body portion, an inner layer, and an outer layer. The strand main body portion is constituted by an aluminum wire or an aluminum alloy wire. The inner layer is constituted by Zn or a Zn alloy, or Ni or a Ni alloy, and covers an outer circumferential surface of the strand main body portion. The outer layer is constituted by Sn or a Sn alloy, and covers an outer circumferential surface of the inner layer. In the aluminum-based strand, the outer layer has a pinhole ratio of 4% or less, and/or the inner layer has a thickness of 0.3 m or more.
Verification of interactions system and method
A node in a plurality of nodes can perform an identity set generation process. The node can then determine a leader node. The node may diffuse an identity set from each node of the plurality of nodes to the plurality of nodes. The node can then determine a majority set including identities occurring in at least one half of the identify sets, wherein the leader node diffuses the majority set of the leader node to the plurality of nodes. The node can verify the majority set of the leader node. The node may then update the identity set based on the majority set of the leader node.

Low smoke, zero halogen self-regulating heating cable
A low smoke, zero halogen self-regulating heating cable includes a semi-conductive heating core and two conductive wires embedded within and separated by the semi-conductive heating core. The cable also includes a primary jacket surrounding the semi-conductive core, a braid surrounding the primary jacket, and a final jacket surrounding the braid. At least one of the primary jacket and the final jacket includes a low smoke, zero halogen material.
Thermocouple Termination/Closure and Method
Aspects of this disclosure relate to a sheath closure for a dual-wall mineral insulated thermocouple cable. The new closure and methods are required to maintain the integrity of both the inner and outer sheaths or inner and outer walls of a dual-walled thermocouple design. As the inner and outer sheaths are different materials, they may require closure separately with no mixing of the sheathing materials during welding.
Wire and cable jacket composition of PA6/66 copolymer base resin for improved processability and properties
Polyamide compositions for use in forming wire or cable jacket compositions. The polyamide compositions include a component of polyamide 6/66 copolymer formed from substantially randomly distributed caprolactam monomers and hexamethylenediamine monomers. The polyamide 6/66 copolymer component may form the entirety of the polyamide composition or alternatively, the polyamide composition may include an amount of polyamide 6 homopolymer blended with the polyamide 6/66 copolymer component. The composition also includes one or more additives, such as at least one UV mitigation component, and the polyamide composition further has at least one of a measured transmittance of at least 70% and a measured haze of less than 60%, as determined by ASTM D1003.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HYBRID CABLE
A method of manufacturing hybrid cable applicable in oil wells provides an FIMT, a conductor layer formed by continuous laser welding and cylindrically covered the outer surface of the FIMT, the outer cylindrical surface of the conductor layer being covered with a high temperature resistant insulating layer by a continuous extrusion method or by wrapped helically with insulating tapes around the outer surface of the conductor layer and the external steel tube cylindrically covered the outer surface of the insulating layer. The conductor layer is coaxial with the FIMT, the inner space of the hybrid cable to accommodating excess length of the optical fiber to allow for thermal expansions and tensile stress on the optical cable. The thickness of the insulating layer cylindrically covering the outer surface of the conductor layer is able to be increased, improving the insulating property.
Gas resistant pothead system and method for electric submersible motors
A gas resistant pothead system and method for electric submersible motors. A gas resistant pothead system includes a lead foil wrapped motor lead cable (MLE) extending through a pothead, a sleeve of an insulator block inside the pothead, the sleeve including gold plating and lead-foil wrapping over the gold plating, and a lead-to-gold seal formed between the gold plating of the sleeve and the lead foil wrapping over the gold plating. A method of creating a seal to gas around a power cable connection to a downhole electric submersible motor includes wrapping lead foil around a MLE extending through a pothead, continuing the lead foil wrapping around a gold-plated sleeve of an insulating block inside the pothead, mechanically reinforcing the lead foil with an encapsulant, and bonding the lead foil to the gold plating of the insulating block.
