SURGICAL FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A surgical fluid management system delivers fluid for distending a uterine cavity to allow cutting and extraction of uterine fibroid tissue, polyps and other abnormal uterine tissue. The system comprises a fluid source, fluid deliver lines, one or more pumps, and a filter for re-circulating the distension fluid between the source and the uterine cavity. A controller can monitor fluid retention by the patient.

METHOD FOR ANAL OR STOMAL IRRIGATION

A method for anal or stomal irrigation includes providing an irrigation system to a user and instructing the user to operate the system to expel the irrigating liquid from a catheter tip. The irrigation pressure is controlled with the control system in response to input from a sensor such that a pressure at the catheter tip approaches a predetermined threshold pressure value without exceeding the predetermined pressure value

ANTI-REFLUX TUBE-TYPE ENEMATOR

Disclosed are various embodiments for an anti-reflux tube-type enemator that is leakproof, easy-to-clean, and quickly inflates to provide a steady flow of solution. The anti-reflux enemator includes a nozzle comprising a nozzle outlet, a tube fluidly coupled to the nozzle, and an enema bulb fluidly coupled to the tube. The enema bulb is configured to store solution therein and, in response to a squeezing force applied to the enema bulb, direct the solution through the tube and the nozzle, and expel the solution through the nozzle outlet. An anti-reflux coupler is positioned between the enema bulb and the tube through which the solution passes from the enema bulb to the tube. One or more one-way air valves are positioned relative to an aperture of the enema bulb.

ANTI-REFLUX ENEMA BAG WITH PULLEY RESTRICTOR

Disclosed are various embodiments for an anti-reflux enema bag having a pulley restrictor that acts as a waterflow restrictor, where the enema bag is leakproof, easy-to-clean, and provides a steady flow of solution. An enema bag system includes an enema bag, a nozzle comprising a nozzle outlet, and an anti-reflux coupler positioned between the enema bag and the nozzle through which the solution passes from the enema bag to the nozzle outlet. The anti-reflux coupler comprises an inlet for receiving at least a portion of the solution from the enema bag; an outlet for expelling the solution into the nozzle; and a check valve configured to prevent reflux of the solution from the nozzle. The enema bag system further comprises a pulley restrictor configured to selectively control a speed at which the solution is introduced into the nozzle and expelled from the nozzle outlet.

PERISTALTIC PUMPS WITH SELECTIVE ACTIVATION OF MULTIPLE FLUID LINES AND FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INCLUDING THE SAME

A peristaltic pump includes a first motor shaft, a second motor shaft, a first pump head, a second pump head, and a motor. The first pump head is operably coupled to the first motor shaft such that the first pump head is rotated in response to rotation of the first motor shaft. The second pump head is operably coupled to the second motor shaft such that the second pump head is rotated in response to rotation of the second motor shaft. The motor is configured to rotate the first and second motor shafts. The pump head has a first mode in which the first pump head is rotated and the second pump head is idle and a second mode in which the first pump head is idle and the second pump head is rotated.

Apparatus for aspirating, irrigating and cleansing wounds

An apparatus for cleansing wounds in which irrigant fluid from a reservoir connected to a conformable wound dressing and wound exudate from the dressing are recirculated by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing. The cleansing means (which may be a single-phase, e.g. microfiltration, system or a two-phase, e.g. dialytic system) removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The dressing and a method of treatment using the apparatus.

A system and method to irrigate a user's auditory canal. A fluid can be dispensed from a reservoir through a fluid path and out through openings of a delivery element into the auditory canal. A pump may be used to facilitate the process of dispensing the fluid. The fluid can be delivered to the user's auditory canal for a predetermined period of time. Such a time period may be user selectable. The discharge from the irrigation is removed from the user's auditory canal via a discharge port located on the delivery element. The discharge exits the delivery element and proceeds to a discharge reservoir via a discharge path. A vacuum may be used to generate a negative pressure to facilitate the removal of the discharge from the auditory canal.

MEDICAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A fluid management system for use in a tissue resection procedure includes a controller. An inflow pump is operated by the controller and configured to provide fluid inflow through a flow path to a site in patient's body. An outflow pump is operated by the controller and configured to provide fluid outflow through a flow path from the site in patient's body. A motor driven resecting device may be provided for resecting tissue at the site. The controller is configured to actuate an inflow pump and an outflow pump in response to various signals and various algorithms are provided to provide malfunction warnings and assure safe operation.

Trans Anal Irrigation Platform with Bed Module

A trans anal irrigation device that can be used on a bed. The device includes a rectal catheter connected to an irrigation fluid supply. A waste collection bag is also connected to the catheter. The catheter may be insertable in a seat attached to a fluid supply line. A valve in one of the catheter or seat selectably allows or prevents fluid communication between the catheter and a waste collection bag. The catheter may include an inflationless cuff made of a flexible material that permits it to be inserted in the rectum to prevent leakage around the exterior of the catheter.
