A perfusion target internal pressure estimation method includes, at a time of a first operation for feeding liquid and not suctioning the liquid, acquiring a liquid feed flow rate in a liquid feed passage and pressure in a suction passage, at a time of a second operation for feeding the liquid and suctioning the liquid, acquiring a liquid feed flow rate in the liquid feed passage and a suction flow rate in the suction passage, subtracting the suction flow rate from the liquid feed flow rate to acquire a flow rate difference, and acquiring, based on a regression formula of the liquid feed flow rate and the pressure in the suction passage at the time of the first operation, an estimation value of an internal pressure of a perfusion target at the time of the second operation from the flow rate difference.

MEDICAL IMPLEMENT FOR PROVIDING SUCTION AND IRRIGATION
20230277750 · 2023-09-07 ·

A suction and irrigation implement includes a handpiece, a pair of aligned adjacent valve assemblies, a rocker and a hub. The body may be transparent to allow visualization of aspirated substances. The valve assemblies include a plunger with a conical core that increases the area of the valve opening with increased depression. The rocker, a pivoting actuator, opens one valve assembly at a time, thereby preventing simultaneous irrigation and suction. A suction and irrigation tube connects to the hub, which may be rotated to adjust the orientation of the tube, while the implement is in use. Detents define specific orientations.

MEDICAL SYSTEMS AND METHODS

An inflow pump is operated by the controller and configured to provide fluid inflow through a flow path to a site in patient's body. An outflow pump is operated by the controller and configured to provide fluid outflow through a flow path from the site in patient's body. A motor driven resecting device may be provided for resecting tissue at the site. The controller is configured to actuate an inflow pump and an outflow pump in response to various signals and various algorithms are provided to provide malfunction warnings and assure safe operation.

Complex irrigation/suction flow path in a medical device

A suction/irrigation medical device comprises a valve body having one or more conduits fluidically coupled thereto and a first channel extending through the valve body. The medical device also comprises a first valve plunger disposed along the first channel and configured to move along an axis to open and close the first channel. The first valve plunger has a first opening to permit a fluid to flow through the first channel. The medical device also comprises a second valve plunger disposed along the first channel and along a second channel to couple the second channel into the first channel when the second valve plunger is in a first position. The second valve plunger has a second opening that has at least one dimension that is greater than a corresponding dimension of the first opening of the first valve plunger.
