Irrigation assembly
An assembly structured for concurrent irrigation and aspiration of a nasal cavity including a housing having a supply container disposed therein for the removable retention of irrigating fluid. A nasal applicator comprises first and second passages respectfully structured to deliver irrigating fluid to the nasal cavity and concurrently remove waste fluid therefrom. An activating assembly includes a plunger biased into a continuous pressure applying, dispensing relation to the irrigating fluid and a valve assembly is selectively disposable into an open position facilitating fluid communication between the supply container and the applicator for the delivery of the irrigating fluid therethrough into the nasal cavity. The activating assembly is further structured to create a negative pressure within the chamber which communicates with the second passage of the applicator to facilitate delivery of the waste fluid therefrom along a path of travel to an interior of the chamber.
SURGICAL FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A fluid management system for use with a fluid reservoir includes an inflow pump and an outflow pump. The inflow pump is connectable to a probe for delivering a distention fluid to a body cavity. The outflow pump removes the distention fluid through the same probe, thus establishing a re-circulating volume of distention fluid within the body cavity. The removed fluid is filtered and returned to a fluid reservoir for eventual recycling to the body cavity. A controller adjusts the flow rates of the inflow pump and the outflow pump to maintain a pre-selected fluid pressure or volume within the body cavity.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CATARACT REMOVAL
A phacoemulsification system, method and computer program product, the system comprising: a phacoemulsification probe having at its distal end a needle to be inserted into an eye, the probe comprising an ultrasonic transducer; an optical fiber transferring light from a source and having a distal end positioned in proximity to the tip of the needle for emitting light of predetermined frequency or pattern; a light sensor for detecting the light; and a processor, for repeatedly: receive from the sensor an indication of the detected light; determine whether the detected light complies with a condition indicating contact between the needle and a lens of the eye; subject to determining compliance with the condition and that the ultrasonic transducer being inactive, toggle the ultrasonic transducer ON; and subject to determining that the detected light does not comply with the condition and that the ultrasonic transducer being active, toggle the ultrasonic transducer OFF.
FLUID MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Fluid management systems are disclosed that include software-controlled, electro-mechanical devices used in combination with single-use or multi-use tubing sets. Functions of the fluid management systems can include fluid pressurization, fluid warming, fluid deficit monitoring (including flow-based and weight-based), suction, fluid collection, and fluid evacuation (including indirect-to-drain and direct-to-drain options). The systems can be configured based on the surgical environment (e.g., operating room or physician office) as well as other user needs and/or preferences.
POSITIVE-PRESSURE DOUBLE-NOZZLE NASAL CAVITY CLEANER FEATURING DOUBLE PRESSURE PROTECTION AND USE METHOD THEREOF
The present invention discloses a positive-pressure double-nozzle nasal cavity cleaner featuring double pressure protection, and relates to the technical field of health care. The nasal cavity cleaner consists of a nose washing end, an upper shell, a core module, a control module, a lower shell, a liquid reservoir and a waste reservoir, wherein the nose washing end is rotatably connected to a top portion of the upper shell, and the nose washing end consists of a silicone washing nozzle, a silicone backflow nozzle and a rotary connecting base. The nasal cavity cleaner uses positive pressure and automatic pressure relief structures to obtain safe and constant air pressure, and then presses normal saline into the nasal cavity to clean the nasal cavity, so that pressure in the nasal cavity is small and stable during cleaning, which prevents damage to the nasal cavity and ear canal, thus being safer to use. Besides, deeper areas can be washed, nasal scabs in the nasal cavity can be moistened and removed, harmful substances such as dust in the nasal cavity can be removed, the nasal cavity can be moistened, and normal swing of nasal cilia can be recovered, which are helpful in treating rhinitis and preventing the onset of allergic rhinitis.
FLUID MANAGEMENT WITH ABNORMALITY DETECTION
A system for detecting abnormalities in medical devices during medical procedures within a patient can include an inflow tubing defining an inflow lumen configured to provide a fluid from a fluid source to a site of the medical procedure. An inflow sensor can be in communication with the inflow lumen to sense an inflow parameter of the fluid within the inflow lumen. An outflow tubing can define an outflow lumen configured to extract debris from the site of the medical procedure. An outflow sensor can be in communication with the outflow lumen to sense an outflow parameter of the debris within the outflow lumen. A memory including instructions; and processing circuitry that, when in operation, can be configured by the instructions to identify an abnormality in either the inflow tubing or the outflow tubing based on comparing the inflow signal or the outflow signal, respectively, to a pre-determined threshold.
INSTILLATION CARTRIDGE AND THERAPY SYSTEM FOR NEGATIVE-PRESSURE THERAPY AND INSTILLATION THERAPY
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for providing installation therapy and negative-pressure therapy are described. The apparatus includes a housing and a moveable barrier disposed in the housing to form a dosing chamber and a pressure chamber. The apparatus also includes a therapy conduit configured to be fluidly coupled to a pressure source and to a canister. The apparatus further includes a fluid inlet fluidly coupled to the dosing chamber and configured to be fluidly coupled to a fluid source and a fluid outlet fluidly coupled to the dosing chamber and configured to be fluidly coupled to a dressing. A pressure inlet is fluidly coupled to the therapy conduit and the pressure chamber; and a check valve is disposed in the therapy conduit.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING PRESSURIZED INFUSION TRANSFER RESERVOIRS
Apparatus, system and method for providing pressurized infusion of liquids and, more particularly, providing a stable and pressurized flow of fluid to the eye during surgery. Aspiration fluid may be received via an aspiration line at a first peristaltic pump, where aspiration fluid is transferred to a Venturi tank reservoir coupled to a second peristaltic pump. Fluid from a fluid source is provided via a third peristaltic pump to a pressurized infusion tank. A determination is made if the pressure in the pressurized infusion tank is at a predetermined level, where fluid may be transferred from the pressurized infusion tank to an irrigation line when pressure in the pressurized infusion tank is determined to be at the predetermined level. Alternate activation of a plurality of aspiration and irrigation lines are also provided.
PRE-ALIGNMENT SURGICAL CASSETTE INTERFACE
A phacoemulsification surgical console, and a related system and method. The console, system and method may include a cassette receiver suitable for receiving a surgical cassette, a controller suitable for controlling provided aspects of the phacoemulsification; and a pre-alignment feature along a lower portion under and proximate to the cassette receiver, extending outwardly from the lower portion, and suitable for aligning the surgical cassette to the cassette receiver. The pre-alignment feature may comprise a shelf.
