Systems and methods for delivering fluid to a wound therapy dressing
Provided are systems and methods for delivery of fluid to a wound therapy dressing. In exemplary embodiments, a pressure source provides negative pressure to a wound dressing and a biasing mechanism provides positive pressure to a fluid reservoir.
Anti-reflux enema bag with pulley restrictor
Disclosed are various embodiments for an anti-reflux enema bag having a pulley restrictor that acts as a waterflow restrictor, where the enema bag is leakproof, easy-to-clean, and provides a steady flow of solution. An enema bag system includes an enema bag, a nozzle comprising a nozzle outlet, and an anti-reflux coupler positioned between the enema bag and the nozzle through which the solution passes from the enema bag to the nozzle outlet. The anti-reflux coupler comprises an inlet for receiving at least a portion of the solution from the enema bag; an outlet for expelling the solution into the nozzle; and a check valve configured to prevent reflux of the solution from the nozzle. The enema bag system further comprises a pulley restrictor configured to selectively control a speed at which the solution is introduced into the nozzle and expelled from the nozzle outlet.
Wound-Dressing Conditioning Device
A wound-dressing conditioning device (12) for conditioning a wound dressing (14). The device (12) comprises a treatment-fluid flow path (20) and a waste-fluid flow path (22). A pumping means (24) is at the treatment-fluid flow path (20) and the waste-fluid flow path (22). The pumping means (24) can pump treatment fluid along the treatment-fluid flow path (20) pump waste fluid along the waste-fluid flow path (22), and apply negative-pressure condition to the wound dressing (14). The pumping means (24) has a controller to control the treatment fluid pumping, and a monitoring means for monitoring a volume of treatment fluid pumped to the wound dressing (14).
Medical device for constipation prevention, coprostasis removal and good bowel movement
A medical device includes: a hollow body part formed in a predetermined bent shape; a head part provided at a tip portion thereof with a discharge port for discharging cleaning water and detachably coupled to a front end of the body part; a connection part connected to a shower hose and a rear end of the body part and provided with a control valve for controlling water supply, a water flow rate and a water pressure; a water purification tube built in the body part and provided with leakage preventing grilles at both ends thereof; and a purified water discharge part provided inside the head part and configured to remove foreign substances in the water by using a filter.
Tip Detection Apparatus and Method for Medical Device
An apparatus and method of detecting an interchangeable tip of a handpiece of an ocular surgical system is disclosed. The interchangeable tip of the system includes an irrigation port that receives fluid flowing from an irrigation source and an aspiration port that removes or aspirates fluid and/or materials from the surgical field, in particular a patient's eye, through use of an aspiration source or pump. The method comprises attaching the interchangeable tip to the handpiece, introducing fluid flow into the system and determining the fluid flow rate of fluid flow in the system, determining the pressure of fluid flowing into the interchangeable tip, determining the pressure of fluid flowing out of the interchangeable tip and comparing the flow rate and pressure information to known flow rate and pressure readings of known types of interchangeable tips to determine the type of interchangeable tip being used.
IRRIGATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR DELIVERING PRESSURIZED FLUID TO SAME FOR WOUND LAVAGE AND BIOFILM CONTROL
A medical device is provided for irrigation of a patient wound site. The device contains a tube having a proximal portion adapted to receive an irrigation solution, a distal portion having a nozzle and an intermediate portion for transporting the solution. The tube has a barrel portion that may be manipulated by a user to position the device relative to the wound site. A distinctive nozzle has a body formed with a distally leading channel presenting a semispherical first spatial conformation and a proximally leading opening formed in the body presenting a second spatial conformation intersecting the semispherical terminus. This geometry, derived from principles of flow mechanics discussed herein, defines what will be described as an “effective diameter” of the nozzle. An assembly and system utilizing the device am also disclosed. The invention utilizes a fluid-isolating durable peristaltic pump for a continuous flow of irrigation solution, along with a single use tube set that embodies the device.
Pressure regulation system
A pressure regulation system for discharging a liquid having a predetermined liquid pressure from a liquid opening, including an elastic bag having a liquid phase and a gas phase, where the liquid opening in an operational position of the elastic bag is formed in the lower area of the elastic bag, at least two push elements, at least one drive unit and a control unit. The elastic bag has a gas opening, which extends into the gas phase. The pressure regulation system has a ventilation unit, which is connected to the control unit for communication and which connects to the gas opening of the elastic bag. The ventilation unit regulates the liquid pressure of the liquid discharged through the liquid opening by means of a gas supply into the elastic bag and/or a gas discharge from the elastic bag.
Pump and means for controlling a pump
A pump with a controller for adjusting head pressure using a pressure boost is provided. The pressure boost may be dynamically adjusted during a surgical procedure based on the device being used and inflow and/or outflow settings.
Apparatus for Stone Fragments Removal
Disclosed is a medical device or system comprising an elongate member having a distal end and a proximal end; an inflow lumen disposed within the elongate member, the inflow lumen having a proximal end, a distal end and a slanting exit opening at the distal end of the inflow lumen; and an outflow lumen also disposed within the elongate member, the outflow lumen having a proximal end, a distal end and a slanting receiving opening at the distal end of the outflow lumen. The disclosed medical device or system further comprises pressure sensors disposed at the distal end of the elongate member. Also disclosed is a method of employing the above disclosed device or variations thereof to remove small stones or small stone fragments from within the body's lumen or internal organ of a subject.
