A helmet for receiving the head of a hockey or lacrosse player, the helmet having an outer shell and an inner lining covering at least partially the inner surface of the outer shell. In one embodiment, the helmet comprises a skeleton at least partially covered by the inner lining, a movable occipital pad and movable temple pads. The inner lining can be made of an absorptive material such as foam, expanded polypropylene or expanded polyethylene and can be overmolded onto the skeleton. The occipital pad and the temple pads may be arranged with an inward bias so as to help the helmet self-adjust to provide an advantageous fit on the player's head. In some embodiments, the outer shell and skeleton, or the outer shell and the inner lining, cooperate to define a ventilation system.

A fit system for a helmet can include an adjuster including a width adjustment track, and first and second pods moveably coupled to the width adjustment track with a first and second support arm, the second pod comprising a lateral offset from the first pod. The fit system can further include a dial moveably coupled to the adjustor, such that movement of the dial changes a size of the lateral offset between the first pod and the second pod. The fit system can further include a hanger flexibly coupled to both the first pod and the second pod and adapted to allow for adjustment of the lateral offset between the first pod and the second pod. The hanger can further be adapted to allow for movement of the first pod and the second pod in a direction substantially perpendicular to the lateral offset without movement of the dial.

Surgical personal protection apparatus

A personal protection system for providing a sterile barrier around medical/surgical personnel. The system includes a helmet over which a hood or a toga suspended. The helmet has a chin bar that extends forward of the face of the individual wearing the system. At least one manually actuated control for regulating one aspect of operation of the system is mounted to the chin bar. The present invention relates to a protective helmet (1) comprising: an outer shell (10); an impact absorbing liner (12), positioned inside the outer shell (10), and a comfort liner (14), positioned at an inner surface of the impact absorbing liner (12), so as to be in contact with the user's head during the use of the protective helmet (1). The comfort liner (14) comprises at least one cheek pad (16) including a padding layer (18) and a pad back plate (20). The at least one cheek pad (16) is coupled to the impact absorbing liner (12) by means of magnetic coupling means (22, 24) provided at the interface surface (P) between the pad back plate (20) and the impact absorbing liner (12). The magnetic coupling means comprise at least one projection (22), provided with a first magnetic element (26), designed to be inserted inside at least one recessed seat (24) in proximity of which a second magnetic element (28) is arranged. According to the invention, the at least one recessed seat (24) has a different size and shape with respect to said at least one projection (22). Said at least one projection (22) is adapted to move inside said at least one recessed seat (24) between a first position, wherein the first magnetic element (26) and the second magnetic element (28) are faced to each other, and a second position, wherein the first magnetic element (26) and the second magnetic element (28) are spaced apart, so that the pad back plate (20) is releasable from the impact absorbing liner (12).

HELMET FOR IMPACT PROTECTION

A helmet for protecting a head of a wearer, such as a hockey, lacrosse, football or other sports player. The helmet includes an outer shell and padding disposed between the outer shell and the wearer's head. The padding includes an inner part configured to face the wearer's head and an outer part disposed between the outer shell and the inner part. The inner part of the padding includes rotational impact protection pads that are spaced from one another and arranged so that they are oriented towards different areas of the wearer's head. Each rotational impact protection pad is separately connected to the outer part of the padding and is movable relative thereto by sliding against the outer part of the padding in response to a rotational impact on the helmet, wherein given ones of the rotational impact protection pads have different shapes and/or different sizes from one another.

Modular helmet system

A modular helmet system comprises a helmet and a chin bar detachably mountable to the helmet. The helmet comprises two receiving-brackets. The chin bar may be inserted into the receiving-brackets of the helmet with its two ends in front in a substantially straight line, wherein the chin bar is lockable in the receiving-brackets in an end position. Each of the two receiving-brackets comprises two insertion flanks which extend towards each other along the direction of insertion at an acute centering angle, wherein the insertion flanks are configured to center the chin bar in the vertical direction when being inserted and to form a stop for the chin bar in the end position of the chin bar.
