A helmet comprises a shell having a front portion, a rear portion, and a pair of lateral portions extending between the front portion and the rear portion. The shell is sized and configured to be placeable on the head of a user. The helmet additionally includes a chin strap having a pair of end portions and an intermediate portion located between the pair of end portions. The end portions are fixedly connected to respective ones of the pair of lateral portions of the shell so as to restrict movement of the end portions relative to the shell. The chin strap is flexible to facilitate placement of the chin strap around a chin of a user in connection with placement of the shell on the head of the user.

A second magnetic element is mounted within the receptacle, and the receptacle on the visor mates with the cavity of the helmet anchor to secure the visor to the helmet. The first magnetic element and the second magnetic element are attracted to one another such that the visor is detachable in response to an impact that exceeds an attractive force between the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element.

A bicycle helmet that fits over a surface of a head of a user generally includes a segment of flexible cell structures that form a radial honeycomb matrix movable between a folded condition where each side of the segment is disposed generally parallel and an expanded use position where the radial honeycomb matrix of the segment is configured to be expanded at least partially over the head of the user and arranged radially relative to the surface of the head of the user. The bicycle helmet includes a first and second side frame disposed respectively at the first and second ends of the honeycomb matrix. A strap assembly offsets the radial honeycomb matrix away from the head of the user in the expanded use position.
