An irrigator system for delivering a volume of fluid from a fluid source to an abscess or wound. The irrigator system includes a fluid source connector for removably connecting to the fluid source, a fluid delivery nozzle for delivering the fluid to the abscess or wound, and a shield removably positioned around the fluid delivery nozzle to protect the fluid delivery nozzle.

Fluid Management System and Method for Controlling Intracavity Pressure

A fluid management system may include an inflow pump configured to pump fluid from a fluid supply source to a treatment site within a patient at a flow rate; and a controller configured to operate at a target flow rate in a flow control mode. In the flow control mode, the controller may be configured to maintain the target flow rate while monitoring a measured pressure communicated to the controller from a pressure sensor. When the measured pressure reaches a preset pressure threshold, the controller may be configured to automatically switch from the flow control mode to a pressure override mode in which the controller automatically reduces the flow rate below the target flow rate to return the measured pressure at or below the preset pressure threshold.

WOUND IRRIGATION SYSTEM

A wound irrigation system and method of making and using. The system uses a pored, closed-ended delivery conduit to enhance the consistency and speed with which anti-microbial or related irrigation fluids may be delivered in order to promote cleansing, debridement and biofilm reduction in wounds. The ease of use of the system as a moist wound healing cascade makes it applicable to both in-home and in-facility environments that is not offered through traditional instillation negative pressure systems. In one form, the fluid delivery conduit is used as part of a dual-conduit approach in order to also help promote the removal of drainage, waste, irrigation overflow or other fluid from the wound. Utilization of such a pored, closed-ended delivery conduit in conjunction with a separate drainage conduit infusing helps reduce the frequency of dressing changes as well as the likelihood of microorganism formation and colonization.

INSTILLATION CARTRIDGE FOR VACUUM ACTUATED FLUID DELIVERY

A fluid delivery system, method, and apparatus for providing instillation therapy with a negative-pressure source is described. The apparatus includes a housing having an ambient chamber and a negative-pressure chamber fluidly isolated from each other. The apparatus also includes a moveable barrier disposed in the housing between the ambient chamber and the negative-pressure chamber. The moveable barrier is operable to move between a charge position and a discharge position in response to negative pressure. A fluid source is disposed in the negative-pressure chamber and is collapsible in response to movement of the moveable barrier to the discharge position. The apparatus also includes a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the fluid source, a negative-pressure port in fluid communication with the negative-pressure chamber and configured to be coupled to a negative-pressure source, and a vent formed in the housing and fluidly coupled to the ambient chamber.

Closed loop surgical system

Featured is a closed loop surgical system including one or more control units that are configured to form a fluid control subsystem for fluid control and a device control subsystem for controlling a surgical device. The two control subsystems in combination provide an automatic self-managed closed loop system for the control of fluid into and out of the surgical site by means of intelligent communication and for maintaining a preselected pressure desired by the surgeon. In particular embodiments, this is accomplished by utilizing empirically correlated motor speed and load measurements, based on supplied current, from the surgical resection device when using its specific resection capability. For example, automatically adjusting fluid flow responsive to changes in loading of a surgical device or automatically sensing a load change for the surgical device during a surgical procedure and automatically changing (increasing or decreasing) fluid flow responsive to the load change.
