Irrigation assembly
11179513 · 2021-11-23 · ·

An assembly structured for concurrent irrigation and aspiration of a nasal cavity including a housing having a supply container disposed therein for the removable retention of irrigating fluid. A nasal applicator comprises first and second passages respectfully structured to deliver irrigating fluid to the nasal cavity and concurrently remove waste fluid therefrom. An activating assembly includes a plunger biased into a continuous pressure applying, dispensing relation to the irrigating fluid and a valve assembly is selectively disposable into an open position facilitating fluid communication between the supply container and the applicator for the delivery of the irrigating fluid therethrough into the nasal cavity. The activating assembly is further structured to create a negative pressure within the chamber which communicates with the second passage of the applicator to facilitate delivery of the waste fluid therefrom along a path of travel to an interior of the chamber.

Container for holding a liquid

A container for holding a liquid, in particular an infusion liquid or irrigating liquid, comprising a liquid phase containing the liquid and a gas phase, wherein, in the operating position, a liquid opening is formed in the lower region of the container and wherein the container has a gas opening. The gas opening is formed by a gas pipe which is inseparably connected to the container and has a first gas pipe end and a second gas pipe end. The first gas pipe end extends into the gas phase of the container and is provided with a closure. The second gas pipe end leads to the outside of the container.

Disclosed are irrigation systems and methods, which can be used for rectal/anal irrigation. One example system includes a reservoir for an irrigating liquid, a probe for arrangement in a user, tubing providing fluid communication between the reservoir and probe, and an electrical pump for indirectly pumping irrigation liquid from the reservoir to the probe through said tubing. The electrical pump is controllable to assume a plurality of predetermined flow rates. The system includes an electrically operable valve to continuously control a degree of openness of the tubing, a flow sensor to measure an actual flow rate of the irrigation liquid in the probe, and a controller to obtain a desired flow rate, and control the flow rate of the electric pump to one of the plurality of flow rates exceeding the desired flow rate, and to continuously regulate the electrically operable valve based on the measured actual flow rate.

TRANSANAL IRRIGATION DEVICE AND SYSTEM

A device for performing transanal irrigation includes an elongated neck having a proximal end and a flushing liquid channel passing therethrough. In a system including the device, the flushing liquid channel communicates with a source of flushing liquid. An insert is positioned on the proximal end of the neck of the device and is inserted into a body cavity of a user. The insert has a flushing liquid opening that is in fluid communication with the flushing liquid channel of the neck. A control housing is connected to the neck of the device and contains a pump. Pressurized flushing liquid flows through the device channel and exits through the flushing liquid opening of the insert when the pump is activated. A pair of support arms are attached to the device neck and rest on a sitting user's legs with the insert positioned below a body cavity of the user.
