APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CENTER TWISTING WIRES
An apparatus configured to twist a first wire about a second wire is presented herein. The apparatus includes a securing mechanism configured to secure ends of the first wire and the second wire. The first wire is arranged parallel to the second wire along a longitudinal axis. The apparatus further includes a gripping mechanism configured to grip central portions of the first and second wires, a tensioning mechanism configured to apply a lateral offsetting force to the gripping mechanism, thereby deflecting the central portions of the first and second wires orthogonally from the longitudinal axis, and a rotating mechanism configured to rotate the gripping mechanism, thereby twisting the first and second wires about one another. A method of twisting a pair of wires is also presented.
Cable processing equipment for processing cable cores of a multi-core cable
Cable processing equipment for processing cable cores of a multi-core cable includes separating elements that are introducible between the cable cores and are movable along the cable cores with combing effect. The separating elements are arranged in star shape and are movable in a radial direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the cable. The cable processing equipment further includes a forming tool for preshaping the core ends, which ends are separated by the separating elements, of the cable cores of the multi-core cable. The forming tool includes a forming die with core receptacles for receiving the cable cores and a guide sleeve for embracing the cable cores.
Stranding machine
A stranding element (V) includes a stationary storage container (2) for the material to be stranded, and at least one rotating guiding device (1, 5, 6, 6a) for guiding the material to the stranding region (3) substantially parallel to the rotational axis of guiding device (1, 5, 6, 6a). The guiding device (1, 5, 6, 6a) is rotatably mounted in support structure (10), in particular in bearing arrangement (L). The bearing arrangement (L) lies completely within the circle of rotation of the material, and is secured to support structure (10) via a retaining arrangement (H) extending from the bearing arrangement (L) radially outwards beyond the circle of rotation of the material, and axially spaced from the guiding device (1, 5, 6, 6a). The retaining arrangement (H) has a passage that opens temporarily to allow the material to pass through in the circumferential direction and that follows the circle of rotation of the material.
