FRONT-LOADABLE FLUID TRANSFER ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED MEDICAL FLUID TRANSFER SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20210187188 · 2021-06-24 ·

Devices for transferring fluid to or from a subject include a plunger assembly coupled to or coupleable to a cannula assembly to allow target fluid to be “front-loaded” into a distal end of the cannula assembly while the stylet is withdrawn a distance to create a vacuum and define a flow channel.

Infusion system configurations

Infusion system configurations and assemblies facilitate routing of infusion circuit tubing lines. Tubing lines are routed into and out from compartments of a shielding assembly for the infusion system, at locations which prevent kinking and/or crushing of the lines, and/or provide for ease in assembling the circuit. A plurality of the lines may be held together by a support frame to form a disposable infusion circuit subassembly, that can further facilitate routing of the lines.

METHOD OF USING A CATHETER WITH A DEDICATED FLUSHING PORT
20210162169 · 2021-06-03 ·

A method of using a catheter with an integral a dedicated flushing port system that allows the practitioner to irrigate an inserted catheter to remove blood dots and other substances from the patient without removing the drainage tube, thus greatly reducing the risk of infection. A holder keeps the flushing port clean and while not in use. A drainage bag with a large spout is provided to allow easy empting of the drainage bag. In one embodiment, the flushing port is integrated as part of the catheter. In another embodiment, the flushing port is part of the drainage tubing and in another embodiment, the flushing port is provided as an attachment piece that fits between the catheter and the drainage tubing. The drainage bag has a handle that allows the user to tip the bag to empty.

GAS REMOVAL APPARATUS AND RELATED METHODS
20210106770 · 2021-04-15 ·

An apparatus having an outer wall that encompasses an interior chamber that holds a predetermined volume of fluid and gas where the gas rises to one end of the interior chamber and the fluid flows to the other end of the interior chamber. The apparatus also has an inlet port that allows for fluid to ingress into the interior chamber and an outlet port that allows for fluid to egress out of the interior chamber.

Method and device for removing gas and/or gas bubbles from a liquid medicament stored in a reservoir
10967135 · 2021-04-06 · ·

This disclosure concerns a method for removing gas and/or gas bubbles from a liquid medicament stored in a reservoir for an infusion pump device. The reservoir comprises a displacing member which is at least partly displaceable relative to the reservoir thereby enabling receiving mechanical oscillations in order to generate mechanical waves in the liquid medicament. The method comprises: providing the reservoir; and transmitting a mechanical oscillation to the displacing member of the reservoir thereby generating a mechanical wave in the liquid medicament for removing gas and/or gas bubbles from the liquid medicament.

PULSATILE OR RESONATING FLUSH SYRINGE
20210113772 · 2021-04-22 · ·

A flush syringe for use in maintaining intravenous catheters, which can more efficiently and effectively flush catheters by providing a pulsating, pulsatile, and/or pulsative flow of fluid that can be produced using the momentum of the moving fluid itself. A steady force applied to the plunger while flushing can provide a pulsating flow of fluid to a catheter.

EMERGENCY MEDICAL INTERVENTION DEVICE
20210128821 · 2021-05-06 ·

A therapeutic device for treating an acute medical condition of a patient such as cardiac arrest is provided. The device includes one or more sensors that monitor parameters such as heart rhythm that relate to the patient's medical condition. The device also includes a plurality of medication reservoirs, each reservoir including a conduit, wherein each reservoir holds a predetermined medication that may be used to treat the condition. A manifold is connected with the reservoirs via their respective conduits. A delivery line is connected with the manifold to deliver fluids from the manifold to the patient intravenously. One or more medication pumps are in fluid connection with respective ones of the reservoirs. A processor is connected with the sensors. The processor includes a memory that stores processing instructions to interpret the parameters and to determine a recommended medication to deliver to the patient based on the parameters, the recommended medication being one of the predetermined medications. The processor is operatively connected with the medication pumps. When a recommended medication is determined, the processor actuates the medication pump connected with the reservoir including the recommended medication to deliver the medication to the patient via the manifold and the delivery line.

SELF-FLUSHING CONNECTOR
20230405297 · 2023-12-21 ·

A self-flushing connector includes a housing having a cavity, a first inlet port, a second inlet port, and an outlet port. A collapsible valve is disposed within the cavity. A first flow path extends from the first inlet port to the outlet port. The first inlet port and the second inlet port are fluidly connected through a gap defined between the body of the collapsible valve and an inner wall of the housing defining the cavity. A second flow path extends from the second inlet port to the first flow path. When the collapsible valve is in a closed state, the collapsible valve fluidly disconnects the second flow path from the first flow path while allowing fluid to flow through the first flow path. When the collapsible valve is in an open state, the second flow path is fluidly connected to the first flow path.

Valve and a method for administering a plurality of drug fluids
10960135 · 2021-03-30 · ·

A valve and a method for administering a plurality of drug fluids to a patient are disclosed. For each drug fluid, the valve may be rotated into a selected drug position associated with the drug fluid. With the valve being in the selected drug position, a backpriming may be performed of a connector line of a drug container containing the drug fluid. Thereafter, the drug fluid may be administered with the valve being in the same selected drug position. Thereafter, the valve may be flushed, optionally while maintaining the same selected valve position.
