Backflow prevention mechanism for drug delivery device
A drug delivery device includes a housing defining a shell and an inner volume, a container, a drive mechanism, a needle assembly, a fluid flow connection, and a backflow prevention mechanism. The container has an inner volume to contain a medicament to be administered to a user. The drive mechanism is at least partially disposed within the housing and exerts a force to urge the medicament out the container. The fluid flow connection is coupled to the container and the needle assembly and allows the medicament to flow from the container to the needle assembly to be administered. The backflow prevention mechanism is associated with at least one of the container, the fluid flow connection, or the needle assembly and includes at least one flow restrictor to restrict a fluid from flowing from the needle assembly to the container.
MULTIPORT DELIVERY DEVICE
Described herein are devices for delivering at least two different medications without requiring disconnections and reconnections of medication syringes. In some embodiments, the devices can accommodate at least two syringes simultaneously. In some embodiments, the device can be torqued while delivering the at least two different medications without loosening the outlet port from an intravenous line the device is hooked up to.

Fluid delivery system including a high crack pressure valve and methods for its use
A high crack pressure valve is described. The high crack pressure valve includes an inlet adapted to receive a medical fluid pressurized by a pump; an outlet in fluid communication with a fluid path element, wherein the fluid path element is in fluid communication with downstream system components of a fluid delivery system; and a moveable element having a crack pressure threshold. The moveable element has a first closed position and a second open position and is configured to move from the first closed position to the second open position when a fluid pressure at the inlet is greater than or equal to the crack pressure threshold. The pressure of fluid at the outlet of the high crack pressure valve has little or no effect on movement of the moveable element from the first closed position to the second open position. Fluid injector systems and fluid path elements which include the high crack pressure valve are also described.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH AIR AND BACKFLOW ELIMINATION
A wearable drug delivery device that can deliver a liquid drug stored in a container to a patient or user is provided. A soft needle or cannula can be placed in fluid communication with the liquid drug and can be coupled to a needle insertion component that provides access to the patient. A drive system of the drug delivery device can expel the liquid drug from the container to the patient through the soft needle or cannula. The wearable drug delivery device can include components for preventing backflow and eliminating air within the liquid drug. As a result, the comfort of the patient can be enhanced and correct drug dosages can be provided when using the drug delivery device.
INFUSION SYSTEM WITH SENSOR SYSTEM HAVING REDUCED COMPLIANCE SENSITIVITY
An infusion system includes an infusion device, an infusion set, and a sensor assembly. The infusion device includes a syringe including a barrel with an outlet end and a plunger, and a pusher device in engagement with the plunger. The set occludes an infusion line having a first end in communication with the outlet end of the barrel and a second end, and a backpressure regulator disposed between the first end and the second end of the infusion line. The sensor assembly includes a first sensor disposed along the infusion line between the backpressure regulator and the second end of the infusion line. The infusion device also includes a controller coupled to the sensor assembly.
Apparatus for preventing backflow
An apparatus for preventing backflow. The apparatus includes a housing; a trap flow part forming a flow passage for a medical fluid, a discharge part provided on an lower portion of the housing and to receive the medical fluid from the trap flow part and to discharge the medical fluid; a backflow prevention chamber part provided between the trap flow part and the discharge part; and a plate-shaped backflow prevention member provided on one surface of the inner side of the backflow prevention chamber part connected to the trap flow part and in close contact with a periphery of the outlet opening, the plate-shaped backflow prevention member being provided to open or close the opening depending on forward flow and the backflow of the medical fluid.
AMBULATORY INFUSION DEVICES AND FILTER ASSEMBLIES FOR USE WITH SAME
An ambulatory infusing device including a housing, a reservoir defining an interior volume, a wall associated with the housing and having an inner surface that faces into the reservoir interior volume, and a filter assembly. The filter assembly may include a filter assembly housing with a housing filter portion having a free end associated with the inner surface of the wall and a filter supporting volume that extends to the free end of the housing filter portion, and a filter located within the filter supporting volume that extends to at least the free end of the housing filter portion.
The filter assembly may include a filter assembly housing with a housing filter portion having a filter supporting volume, a filter located within the filter supporting volume, and a bubble guard, including a bubble guard wall and at least one bubble guard aperture that extends through the bubble guard wall, associated with the filter assembly housing such that the bubble guard wall is located in spaced relation to the filter.
