A transformer includes a substrate having an input and an output, the input being connectable to one section of a medical electrical device, the output being connectable to another section of the medical electrical device. An input ground system and an output ground system, which is electrically isolated from the input ground system, provide continuous return paths for an input signal and an output signal, respectively. The transformer includes a primary winding electrically connected to the input, a secondary winding electrically connected to the output, and a core transferring data from the primary winding to the secondary winding using magnetic field coupling. A middle portion of the primary winding and a middle portion of the secondary winding wrap around the core and are twisted together. Other portions of the primary winding are twisted with one another, while other portions of the secondary winding are twisted with one another.

Network transformer structures including a production method therefore are disclosed. In one embodiment, multiple integrated I-shaped magnetic cores that include three winding barrel portions based on a new design for a magnetic core structure is disclosed. A first winding barrel portion and a second winding barrel portion are configured to wind a transformer winding, and a third winding barrel portion is configured to wind a common mode choke winding, so that a transformer and a common mode choke are combined onto one magnetic core to replace two previous magnetic cores, thereby saving on the overall network transformer structure cost as well as space on, for example, an end consumer printed circuit board.

Disclosed is a network transformer. The network transformer includes a base and an upper cover, with the base and the upper cover being engaged with each other to form a receiving cavity. The receiving cavity is provided therein with a magnetic core coil. In manufacturing the network transformer provided in embodiments of the present application, a thread head and a thread tail of the magnetic core coil are welded with the base by an automatic spot welder, and then the upper cover is fixedly connected to the base, so that the manufacturing process is simplified, which ensures the rate of qualified products and improves the using effect.

Disclosed are apparatus and methods for arrayed embedded magnetic components that include magnetic devices that have a core that is embedded between two or more substrates and a winding pattern surrounding the core that is implemented on and through the two or more substrates. The winding pattern is operable to induce a magnetic flux within the core when energized by a time varying voltage potential. The winding pattern may be implemented by printed circuit layers, plated vias, other electrically conductive elements, and combinations thereof. Arrayed embedded magnetic components include two or more electrically interconnected magnetic devices positioned side-by-side in a horizontal integration, positioned top-to-bottom in a vertical integration, or combinations thereof. The magnetic devices may have a magnetic functionality such as, but not limited to, a transformer, inductor, and filter. Disclosed magnetic components and methods provide for low cost construction, consistent performance, and a low profile form, among other benefits.
