SYSTEMS AND APPROACHES FOR DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE RECONSTITUTION
Methods of preparing a drug for delivery and drug delivery systems for achieving the same are disclosed. A method of preparing a drug for delivery may include providing a diluent contained in a diluent container and providing a drug product contained within a drug product container. The method may further include fluidly connecting the diluent container and the drug product container. Additionally the method may include urging, via a pump, at least a portion of the diluent from the diluent container into the drug product container to at least partially reconstitute the drug product.
Extended use medical device
Provided is an extended use self-contained, wearable medical device. The device is preferably configured with an infusion deployment mechanism for variably inserting and retracting an infusion needle to different depths, or completely retracting the infusion needle from the infusion site and then re-inserting the infusion needle after a predetermined period of time, throughout an infusion cycle for extending the viability of the infusion site. Another embodiment comprises dual needle deployment mechanisms which may also variably insert and retract the infusion needles. A flow sensor is preferably provided for detecting the stoppage of flow through the infusion cannula and signaling the needle deployment mechanism to attempt infusion at a different depth or to deploy a second infusion needle. A re-fillable reservoir assembly is preferably provided for supplying a drug over the extended use of the device. Another embodiment comprises a partially reusable and partially disposable medical device implementing the above features.
Fluid delivery systems and methods
A method of dispensing fluid includes three processes. A first one of these processes includes pumping fluid into a resilient variable-volume dispensing chamber. The dispensing chamber is in series with a normally present finite fluid impedance and an output. The impedance is sufficient so as to cause expansion of the dispensing chamber as it receives pumped fluid even while some fluid flows through the output. Another one of these processes includes repeatedly measuring a parameter related to volume of the dispensing chamber over time. A third one of these processes includes controlling the pumping of fluid based on repeated measurements of the parameter to produce a desired fluid flow through the output. A corresponding system for dispensing fluid implements these processes.
Adjustable medium diverter
A system for modulating delivery of a fluid medium includes an injector for injecting the fluid medium during an injection cycle, a delivery catheter including a conduit for delivering the fluid medium, a manifold disposed in a fluid medium flow path between the injector and the delivery catheter, and a pulsatile generator. The pulsatile generator is configured to apply a pulsatile force to the fluid medium defined by a plurality of duty cycles during the injection cycle, each of the duty cycles including a first pressure level and a second pressure level that is lower than the first pressure level.
INFUSION SYSTEM FOR SHORT-LIVED RADIOPHARMACEUTICALS
A non-surgical method of delivering a liquid radioactive solution from a source to a recipient comprising the steps of: determining a desired recipient level of radioactivity and recipient volume of the radioactive solution to be delivered to the recipient, providing a first valve having a waste position and a recipient position, providing a bolus conduit, a waste conduit and a recipient conduit, each conduit having a valve end being connected to said first valve, so that the first valve can establish a waste flow path in the waste position and a recipient flow path in the recipient position, the recipient flow path being different from said waste flow path, the bolus conduit comprising a measuring section and an internal volume, the internal volume being approximately equal to the desired recipient volume of the radioactive solution to be delivered to the recipient, arranging said first valve in the waste position, transporting a first amount of said radioactive solution through said waste flow path, the first amount of said radioactive solution having an initial level of radioactivity that is at least approximately equal to or higher than the desired recipient level of radioactivity and an initial volume that is larger than the internal volume of said bolus conduit, providing a radiation detector, the radiation detector being operable to measure a level of radioactivity of the radioactive solution in said measuring section, measuring a reference level of radioactivity of said radioactive solution present in said measuring section, wherein when the reference level of radioactivity is approximately equal to an injection level of radioactivity, the method further comprises the steps of: arranging the first valve in the recipient position, and transporting the radioactive solution present in the bolus conduit through the recipient flow path.
MEDICAL DEVICE UPDATE SYSTEM
A system and method for providing updates to medical devices is disclosed. In one example, the medical devices are configured to pull update files in response to the reception of an update message from a server. Once the update files are downloaded by a medical device, the update files can be installed. While the medical device pulls the update files, the medical device can continue with its normal operation. If desired, a user can select which medical devices should be updated, based on any desired factors, such as the physical location of the device, the model of the device, the type of device, and the way the device is being used.
SYSTEM AND DEVICE FOR DISPENSING A PRODUCT
A dispensing system includes a reservoir containing the product to be dispensed, a movable element slidably mounted in the reservoir in a sealed manner so as to move according to a level of product in the reservoir, an electric motor, a pump driven by the electric motor and connected to the reservoir to transfer the product from the reservoir to a dispensing device, a first detection member providing information on at least one parameter of the movable element, the first detection member comprising a signal transmitter and a signal receiver, a second detection member configured to determine at least one operating parameter of the pump or the electric motor, an electronic member cooperating with the first and second detection members to provide information relating to the dispensing of a predetermined dose of the product.
Drug delivery systems and methods with back pressure sensing
Systems and methods for injecting a drug and detecting tissue induced back pressure are disclosed. A drug delivery system may include a reservoir filled or fillable with a drug, an administration member connected or connectable in fluid communication with the reservoir, a drive assembly, and a pressure sensor. The administration member may be configured for insertion into and subsequently retraction from a patient. The drive assembly may be configured to urge the drug from the reservoir to deliver a dose of the drug to the patient via the administration member. The pressure sensor may be configured to detect tissue back pressure during use of the drug delivery system, including after dose completion and prior to retraction of the administration member. The drug delivery system may be controlled in a manner that accounts for the tissue back pressure measurement.

Devices and methods for modulating medium delivery
Devices, systems and methods for controlling, regulating, altering, transforming or otherwise modulating the delivery of a substance to a delivery site. The devices, systems and methods optimize the delivery of the substance to an intended site, such as a vessel, vascular bed, organ and/or other corporeal structures, while reducing inadvertent introduction or reflux substance to other vessels, vascular beds, organs, and/or other structures, including systemic introduction.
