Smart module for a circuit breaker
A communications and processing module is provided. The communications and processing module is electrically coupleable to a circuit breaker to provide the circuit breaker with additional capabilities. The communications and processing module includes a housing, at least one electrical contact positioned in the housing, an output lug positioned in the housing, wherein an electrical path is defined between the at least one electrical contact and the output lug, at least one sensor positioned in the housing and operable to sense at least one operating condition of the circuit breaker, and at least one communications interface positioned in the housing and communicatively coupled to the at least one sensor, the communications interface operable to receive data from the at least one sensor that is indicative of the at least one sensed operating condition to facilitate exporting the received data to a remote computing device.
Contactor Module and a Contactor Module Arrangement
A contactor module is adapted to detect a switching state of a contactor. The contactor module includes a movable element that is arranged to transmit the movement of a switching element of the contactor to the contactor module; and a deflection lever attached to the movable element. The deflection lever is arranged to indicate the switching state.
Smart self-feeding fuse with current detection and communication
A smart, self-feeding fuse with current detection and communication capabilities for use in overhead medium voltage electrical distribution networks (15 kV to 34 kV). The device is configured to detect transient or permanent electric faults (sensor), and/or to be used as a communication device (gateway) that preserves the main protection function of the fuse element. The device is assembled on a base fuse and is simply installed by using a maneuver pole, similarly to the installation of a conventional fuse tube. The invention is self-fed by a high output current transformer with the help of photovoltaic cells, using a supercapacitor bank as the only power storage element.
Ohmni-Switch
The Ohmni-Switch is a system that enables a person to use an existing wall switch/receptacle circuit to control outlets that are not wired in that existing wall switch/receptacle circuit. The transmitter and receiver circuits will be housed in a sealed plastic case. All external surfaces of the devices will not have any contact with the house 120 VAC mains.
DISCONNECTOR DEVICE WITH PASSIVE RADIO DEVICE, GRID PROTECTION SYSTEM HAVING THE DISCONNECTOR DEVICE, AND METHOD FOR INDICATING A STATE OF THE DISCONNECTOR DEVICE
A disconnector device is connectable to pole-mounted equipment in a power grid. The disconnector device is activated in case of an overload condition, thereby disconnecting the pole-mounted equipment. The disconnector device comprises a passive radio device to be enabled via an incoming radio signal. The passive radio device, upon being enabled, transmits, in at least one state of the disconnector device, an indicator radio signal indicative of the respective state of the disconnector device, the state being one of an activated state and a deactivated state of the disconnector device.
Bus plug including remotely operated circuit breaker and electrical system including the same
A bus plug structured to electrically connect between a busway and a load includes a circuit breaker structured to electrically connect between connectors and the load and to output a first control signal, the circuit breaker including separable contacts structured to open to stop power from the flowing from the busway to the load, a motor operator structured to cause the separable contacts to open or close in response to the first control signal from the circuit breaker, and a wireless communication module structured to wirelessly communicate with an external device and to output a second control signal to the circuit breaker is response to wireless communication received from the external device. The circuit breaker is structured to output the first control signal to the motor operator to open or close the separable contacts in response to receiving the second control signal from the wireless communication module.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO ALLOW FOR A SMART DEVICE
Smart switch devices, systems, and methods for modifying an existing electrical system to utilize the power state output of a physical switch as an indicator or signal for the operation of a smart home device or system or network of such devices to facilitate interoperability of physical switches with smart devices. The smart switch detects or determines the power state of a circuit and infers the corresponding state of a mechanical switch that operates the circuit. This information is then transmitted to associated smart devices, which may not be physically connected to the circuit controlled by the switch. When the mechanical switch is operated, it can control both electrically attached loads, such as a conventional light or appliance, and wirelessly control unconnected smart devices.
ACOUSTIC DEVICE
There is provided audio equipment that enables power supply and signal connection to a rotary operation unit in a non-contact manner. The audio equipment includes: the rotary operation unit rotatably supported in relation to an equipment body; an operation detecting section provided for the rotary operation unit and in which an electric load changes in response to a pressing operation; a power supplying section provided for the equipment body and configured to supply power to the operation detecting section in a non-contact manner; and a monitoring section configured to monitor the power supplied by the power supplying section to detect the user's operation from a change in the power.
COMMUNICATION ENABLED CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Wireless communication enabled circuit breakers are described. Methods associated with such wireless communication enabled circuit breakers are also described. The wireless communication enabled circuit breakers may controlled by a remote entity. The remote entity may wirelessly case the wireless communication enabled circuit breakers to trip.
Load center position-based addressing
Embodiments of the disclosure provide for a system and method for determining a circuit breaker position in a power distribution/load center. In one embodiment, the load center includes a plurality of circuit breakers. Each circuit breaker includes a base and a plurality of contact components coupled to the base. In that regard, an activation of a combination of the contact components indicates a position of the circuit breaker within the load center. The activation of the combination indicates that one or more of the contact components is in contact with one or more pegs coupled to the load center. When this occurs, a data transceiver coupled to each of the contact components transmits a data signal. The data signal includes a plurality of data bits, where each data bit indicates whether a corresponding contact component of the combination is activated or not activated.
