An operating apparatus for operating at least one electrical appliance in a motor vehicle may include an operating element, a rocker that may actuate a switching element using a rocker movement initiated by an actuation of the operating element, at least one connector between the operating element and the rocker, the at least one connector being a vertical pin connector, and a circuit board which may include a first side and a second side. The first side may include a switching element that switches when the operating element is actuated. The circuit board may be arranged between the operating element and the switching element so that the first side faces away from the operating element and the second side, lying opposite the first side, faces the operating element.

An illuminated electrical load control is provided for controlling electrical power to a light-emitting diode (LED) lighting load. The load control includes a wall-box mounted housing, and an electrical switch assembly disposed at least partially within the housing. The switch assembly includes an actuator coupled to transition the switch assembly between an ON state, where AC current flows to the LED lighting load, and an OFF state, where current is interrupted from flowing to the LED lighting load. Further, the load control includes an illumination assembly with an indicator light to illuminate, at least in part, the load control when the switch assembly is in OFF state, and a current-limiting circuit connected across terminals of the switch assembly, and configured to limit leakage current through to the LED lighting load to below an activation current of the LED lighting load when the switch assembly is in the OFF state.

Various examples of park brake interface modules which are utilized as human machine interfaces (HMI) in vehicles are provided. In one example, a park brake interface module for a vehicle includes a park brake switch device to actuate the park brake. The park brake switch device is capable of actuating the vehicle park brake in a brake apply mode upon receipt of a pinch signal. In another example, the park brake interface module includes a park brake switch device which is capable of actuating the vehicle park brake in a brake release mode upon receipt of a reach signal. In a further example, the park brake interface module includes recessed fixed parking brake actuation switches. In operation, the electronic interface module and park brake switch devices allow the operator to apply or release the vehicle park brakes according to memorable mnemonics, for example, “pinch to park” and “reach to release.”

The present disclosure provides apparatuses and methods for bulb detection for a lighting control system. The apparatus includes a lighting control module configured to cause a transmission of a quantity of electrical energy to a lighting circuit of a light fixture electrically connected to the lighting control module. The apparatus includes a detector circuit positioned in the lighting control module. The detector circuit is configured to measure a response of the lighting circuit to the transmission of the quantity of electrical energy. The apparatus also includes a controller in electrical communication with the detector circuit. The controller is specially programmed to correlate the quantity of electrical energy transmitted to the lighting circuit to the response of the lighting circuit. The controller is further programmed to determine the bulb type of a bulb electrically coupled to the lighting circuit of the light fixture.

The cover assembly may include a cover plate having an electrical load and at least one intermediate connector coupled to the electrical load, an intermediate plate having at least one receptacle connector extending from the intermediate plate and an electrical connection point coupled to the at least one receptacle connector. The receptacle connector may be placed in electrical contact with an electric supply of the receptacle and delivers current to the electrical connection point when coupled to the receptacle. The intermediate plate is coupled between the receptacle and the cover plate with the intermediate connector of the cover plate engaging the electrical connection point of the intermediate plate to supply power to the electrical load coupled to the cover plate.
