Syringe System
A syringe is disclosed, comprising: an outer casing or syringe housing with finger pads or finger rings at the proximal end capable of firmly holding; a cartridge having a glass or plastic barrel or generally tubular barrel with a cap assembly comprising of a needle pierceable septum or sealing element held by a ferrule or crimp at the distal end of the barrel and a stopper/piston disposed at the proximal end of the barrel to contain the medicament or other formulation between the stopper/piston member and the septum or sealing element, a plunger rod with finger pad or finger ring at one end and in communication with the cartridge stopper/piston at the other end, wherein the cartridge is held axially in a fixed or in a first position and is prevented from substantially moving or moving unaided axially forwards or backwards within the syringe housing.
Cartridge assembly for a drug delivery device and drug delivery device
A cartridge assembly for a drug delivery device is described. The cartridge assembly includes a cartridge containing a drug, the cartridge including a dispensing end; a cartridge holder, the cartridge holder defining an interior cartridge holding section, where the cartridge is arranged within the cartridge holding section; and a fixing feature. The fixing feature includes a fixing surface, in particular a radially oriented surface, which is arranged to abut a cartridge surface of the cartridge, in particular a radially oriented surface, to prevent removal of the cartridge from the cartridge holder such that the cartridge is permanently secured in the cartridge holder.
MECHANICAL INJECTION PUMP AND METHOD OF USE
A mechanical injection pump wearable by a user to deliver a first fluid and a second fluid, including: a pump body having a first fluid chamber to hold the first fluid and a second fluid chamber to hold the second fluid; a common connector having a first inlet, a second inlet, and a common outlet; a first fluid system including the first fluid chamber, a first button drive connected to the first fluid chamber, and first fluid delivery path between the first fluid chamber and the first inlet; and a second fluid system including the second fluid chamber, a second button drive connected to the second fluid chamber, and second fluid delivery path between the second fluid chamber and the second inlet. Force by the user on the button drive increases pressure within the fluid chamber to drive a predetermined volume of the fluid from the fluid chamber.
Container Holder Assembly
Container holder assembly for use in a medicament delivery device, comprising a tubular body elongated in an axial direction, said tubular body having a proximal end and an opposite distal end, and a retaining member releasably arranged to said tubular body for securing an elongated container placed inside the tubular body, wherein said retaining member comprises a resilient structure capable of exerting an axial force on said container in said tubular body for holding the container in a fixed position inside the tubular body and thereby avoiding displacement or breakage of the container and wherein a distal end of said container protrudes from a distal end of said tubular body.
ROTATION RESISTANT FRICTION ADAPTER FOR PLUNGER DRIVER OF DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A method and system are disclosed for driving a plunger in a drug reservoir. In some embodiments, a variable friction element interconnects between a pushing shaft and a wall of the reservoir. For example, rotation of a driving element in a first direction relative to the pushing shaft may advance the pushing shaft in the reservoir. The friction element may have increased friction resistance to rotation of the pushing shaft in the first direction in comparison to frictional resistance to advancing the pushing shaft. For example, the increased friction may result from wedging a radial element between the pushing shaft and the wall of the reservoir.
The cartridge surface is a proximal surface which faces away from the dispensing end of the cartridge, wherein the cartridge surface is arranged between the dispensing end of the cartridge and the end opposite of the dispensing end, and wherein the fixing feature is integrated into the cartridge holder.
Syringe for Direct Use with Medical Ampoules and Vials
A syringe for use with a medical ampoule and/or a medical vial, the syringe haying: (a) a syringe body; (b) a syringe plunger having a hollow interior volume which is open at one end; and (c) an ampoule interface element configured for deployment between an outer surface of the ampoule and the surface of the hollow interior volume so as to hold the medical ampoule in the hollow interior volume. A method for the use of the syringe is also disclosed.
AUTO INJECTOR WITH CASSETTE
A cassette is provided for use in an auto injector for administering a medicament. The cassette includes a syringe compartment containing the medicament, a hollow needle in fluid connection with the syringe compartment, a rigid needle shield connected to the syringe compartment and covering the hollow needle, a stopper movable inside the syringe compartment, a syringe holder extending around at least part of the syringe compartment, a rigid needle shield holder having a first part positioned between the rigid needle shield and the proximal end of the syringe compartment, and a cassette skin sensor. Also disclosed is the auto injector.
AutoInjector having Needle Shield Triggering
An autoinjector (100) for expelling a single dose of drug from a held cartridge (600) comprising a piston (630), the autoinjector comprising: a) a base (200, 220), b) a needle (500) that is fixedly mounted relative to the base (200, 220), c) a plunger (310, 320, 400) adapted for cooperation with the piston (630), d) an actuating spring (330) arranged to act on the plunger (310, 320, 400) to drive the piston (630) distally, and e) a needle shield (350, 380) axially movable relative to the base (200, 220) between an extended position and a collapsed position. In an initial state, a thread (325) of the plunger (310, 320, 400) engages a base thread (205) to maintain the plunger in an initial axial position. The autoinjector defines a lock (320, 328, 380, 388) that is released when the needle shield (350, 380) is moved from the extended position to the collapsed position. The lock (320, 328, 380, 388) releases to enable relative rotation between plunger thread (325) and base thread (205) causing release of the plunger (310, 320, 400) from the initial axial position and expelling the dose of the drug.
