An injection device includes a cartridge configured to hold a volume of fluid, the cartridge having a proximal end and a distal end through which the fluid is dispensed; a stopper disposed in the cartridge and configured to move from the proximal end toward the distal end to cause the fluid to be dispensed through the distal end of the cartridge; and an electronic device disposed at the distal end of the cartridge, the electronic device including an emitter configured to transmit a signal toward the stopper, a receiver configured to receive reflections of the signal from the stopper, and a controller configured to wirelessly transmit data related to a position of the stopper in the cartridge.

A medicament delivery device is presented having a drive mechanism configured to act on a medicament container for expelling a medicament; a holding mechanism configured to hold said drive mechanism in a pre-tensioned state; an activation mechanism configured to interact with said holding mechanism for releasing said drive mechanism from the pre-tensioned state; wherein the device further includes a feedback mechanism configured to interact both with said holding mechanism and with said drive mechanism for generating an audible and/or tactile and/or visual signal indicating that the medicament has been completely expelled.

An injection device having a drive member with first and second gear patterns that are fixed relative to each other. The drive member is rotatable and translatable in first and second opposing axial directions. A plunger expels medicament from a cartridge when it is translated in an advancing direction. A dosage indicator indicates a set dosage. A first gearing arrangement operably couples the first gear pattern with the plunger wherein rotation of the drive member in a first direction translates the drive member in a first axial direction without movement of the plunger and translation of the drive member in the opposite axial direction drives the plunger in the advancing direction. A second gearing arrangement operably couples the second gear pattern with the dosage indicator and moves the dosage indicator to indicate an increase in the set dosage when the drive member is translated in the first axial direction.
