ELECTRICAL SWITCHING APPARATUS AND SECONDARY DISCONNECT ASSEMBLY WITH CONTACT ALIGNMENT FEATURES THEREFOR
A secondary disconnect assembly is for an electrical switching apparatus, such as a power circuit breaker. The secondary disconnect assembly includes a terminal block mount having a number of first mounting features, at least one terminal block, and at least one accessory plug. Each terminal block includes a number of receptacles and a number of second mounting features, which cooperate with the first mounting features to properly align, mount and stabilize the terminal block on the terminal block mount. Each accessory plug includes a number of contact alignment features structured to align and guide the accessory plug into a corresponding one of the receptacles.
Circuit breakers with secondary displacement springs
Circuit breakers with a first bus energizing spring held in the housing that electrically connects the circuit board to an external electrical connection. The bus primary energizing spring is configured to deflect toward the circuit board with a first linear displacement. The circuit breakers also include a second bus energizing spring held in the housing that is configured to deflect toward the circuit board with a second linear displacement that supplements the first linear displacement.
ANGLED PLUG-ON NEUTRAL CONNECTORS, CIRCUIT BREAKERS INCLUDING SAME, PANEL BOARDS INCUDING ANGLED NEUTRAL BARS, AND METHODS OF MAKING NEUTRAL CONNECTIONS
An angled plug-on neutral connector assembly of a circuit breaker. Angled plug-on neutral connector assembly includes a molded case including a bottom plane and a retaining portion, and a neutral connector received and constrained in the retaining portion, the neutral connector including a connector body including first and second prongs, and an opening between the prongs configured to receive a neutral bar. The opening is oriented in an angled orientation to the bottom plane, as defined by a connector angle measured between the bottom plane and a bisector line between the first and second prongs, wherein the connector angle is between about 30 degrees and about 70 degrees. Electronic circuit breakers including the angled plug-on neutral connector assembly, panel boards including angled neutral bars, and methods of making neutral connections between angled neutral bars and angled neutral connectors of circuit breakers are provided, as are other aspects.
OVER-MOLDED TRIPPING SHAFT APPARATUS WITH INTEGRATED SPRING, TRIPPING ASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS OF ASSEMBLY
A tripping shaft apparatus for a circuit breaker. Tripping shaft apparatus includes a rigid shaft portion and a polymer shaft portion molded onto the rigid shaft portion, wherein the polymer shaft portion includes a first molded lever. At least one other lever is a part of the tripping shaft apparatus. A torsion spring is received over the shaft between the first molded lever and the second lever providing an integral torsion spring positioned between the levers. Circuit breaker tripping assemblies and methods of assembling a circuit breaker tripping assembly are provided, as are other aspects.
Minitype breaker with high stability
A high-stability miniature circuit breaker has a pivotal shaft having a first section, a second section and a shoulder. The diameter of the second section is larger than the first section. The shoulder diameter is larger than the second section. A pivoting lever on the first section limits the axial position of a protruding mesa relative to the shaft by contact fit between the mesa and a thrust surface on the second section. A pivoting latch is on the second section. A first end face fits to a support surface on the shoulder. A second end face fits to the protruding mesa at the other end. The latch controls a drive rod and the lever. A connecting rod separates from the latch when latch hasps are separated and the latch separates from the drive rod which slides along a groove of the lever.
SYSTEM, METHOD AND DEVICE FOR RACKING CIRCUIT BREAKERS
Systems, devices and methods are disclosed for racking circuit breakers in a switchgear cabinet via a drive mechanism that is flexibly linked to a racking mechanism associated with each circuit breaker. The drive mechanism can be connected for racking multiple circuit breakers without requiring re-positioning of the drive mechanism.
Circuit breaker crossbar assembly
A circuit breaker crossbar assembly includes a crossbar having a first and second segment, the first and second segment each operatively coupled to a respective moveable contact arm assembly. Also included is a coupling segment disposed between the first and second segment, the crossbar and the coupling segment rotatable about an axis. Further included is at least one support assembly operatively coupled to the coupling segment. The support assembly includes a bushing coupled to the coupling segment and rotatable with the crossbar and the coupling segment. The support assembly also includes a support bracket configured for affixation to a stationary structure and disposed adjacent to the bushing, the bushing rotatable relative to the support bracket. The support assembly further includes a fixing bracket engaged with the support bracket and disposed adjacent to the bushing, the bushing rotatable relative to the fixing bracket.
Electrical switching apparatus and secondary disconnect assembly with error-proofing features therefor
A secondary disconnect assembly is for electrically connecting and disconnecting accessories to an electrical switching apparatus, such as a power circuit breaker. The secondary disconnect assembly includes a terminal block assembly comprising a mounting member, at least one terminal block removably mounted on the mounting member, and at least one accessory plug structured to be removably inserted into the terminal block to be electrically connected to the terminal block. The terminal block and the accessory plug each include a plurality of error-proofing features. The error-proofing features prohibit insertion of the accessory plug into the terminal block unless the accessory plug is correctly disposed in a predetermined orientation.
TRIP DEVICE FOR MANUAL MOTOR STARTER
The present disclosure relates to a manual motor starter and, more specifically, to a trip device for a manual motor starter. A trip device for a manual motor starter according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a trip unit body forming the base of a trip unit; a fixed contact coupled to the lower portion of the trip unit body; a heater assembly inserted and coupled to the trip unit body and detecting the heat variation; a coil coupled to the upper portion of the trip unit body; a core unit inserted into the coil; a terminal rod coupled to the core unit and the trip unit body, and having one end portion forming a terminal unit; and an instant trip lever which is rotatably coupled to the trip unit body and is operated by the core unit, wherein a coil attachment portion in which the coil is inserted and installed protrudes from the trip unit body.
