20190298924 · 2019-10-03 ·

Systems and methods for delayed delivery of a drug are disclosed. A drug delivery system may include a delivery member for insertion into a patient and a reservoir configured to receive a volume of a drug. An energy source may be activatable by the patient to actuate the reservoir to deliver the drug to the patient as a single bolus. A lockout system may be configured to have a locked state, wherein the lockout system prevents movement of the delivery member and/or activation of the energy source, and an unlocked state, wherein the lockout system permits movement of the delivery member and/or activation of the energy source. The lockout system may be configured to automatically change from the locked state to the unlocked state after a preselected time period has elapsed. An output element may generate a detectable output after the preselected time period has elapsed for notifying the patient.

An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product includes a housing; a product container arranged in the housing, particularly, a syringe comprising a displaceable piston; a drive member; a first spring which acts on the drive member and the piston to dispense the product from the container; signal element releasably axially coupled with the drive member so that the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction as said drive member is displaced; and a second spring, which exerts a spring force on the signal element against the dispensing direction and is tensioned as the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction. When the signal element is released or detached from the axial coupling, the second spring causes the signal element to accelerate opposite the dispensing direction and strike against a signal stop and generate an acoustic and/or tactile signal.

Disposable injector having a sound-proofing layer

A disposable injector comprising a housing, a spring-loaded piston-actuating plunger arranged in the housing and able to be released by a trigger unit. A cylinder-piston unit comprising a cylinder and a piston that is positioned at a distance from the piston-actuating plunger. A closed layer made on an elastically-deformable material surrounds the piston-actuating plunger in at least some sections and projects beyond same in the trigger direction, resulting in a disposable injector that will not alarm a patient during use thereof.

ASSISTED MANUAL INJECTOR DEVICES AND METHODS

Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to needle-based injectors that incorporate a power assembly comprising a stored energy source and a rate control assembly. The power assembly may be further configured to allow the injection to be performed with more force than a user may be capable of delivering, while also allowing the user to maintain control of the injection process after the stored energy source has been released and the injection has begun, such the user may increase or decrease the rate of injection, or stop the injection, during the injection process. In various embodiments, the power assembly may comprise spring- or gas-based stored energy sources, and/or may comprise friction- or tension-based rate control assemblies. Described herein are also methods for injecting an agent using embodiments of the devices described here.

Signal delaying assembly for a medicament delivery device

The present disclosure relates to a safety mechanism for a medicament delivery device for mechanical shock absorption, which safety mechanism has a medicament delivery member sleeve, a housing having a proximal opening arranged to receive the medicament delivery member sleeve, wherein the medicament delivery member sleeve is axially displaceable inside the housing, between an extended position in which a proximal end portion of the medicament delivery member sleeve extends proximally from the housing and a retracted position in which the proximal end portion is received by the housing, wherein the proximal end portion has a resilient structure, enabling compression of the proximal end portion in the distal direction upon impact of an axial force greater than a threshold value.

Needle shield puller cap assembly

A puller assembly for removing a shield from around a needle of a syringe. The puller assembly includes a grip component and a cap. The grip component has a tubular body defining an interior hollow which axially receives the shield. The tubular body has a slit that allows it to be forcibly shifted from a first arrangement to a second arrangement to change the size of the interior hollow. The tubular body includes a radial inner face with at least one radial inward projection for directly engaging the shield. The cap is grippable by a user. The grip component is held by the cap when inserted within a cavity of the cap during manufacturing installation, and when so held at least one radial inward projection of the grip component engages the shield for removal of the shield from around the needle when the cap is moved. A method of mounting a puller assembly to a shield around a needle is also disclosed.

Autoinjector with a signaling device

An autoinjector for dispensing a liquid product includes a housing; a product container arranged in the housing, particularly, a syringe comprising a displaceable piston; a drive member; a first spring which acts on the drive member and the piston to dispense the product from the container; a signal element releasably axially coupled with the drive member so that the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction as the drive member is displaced; and a second spring, which exerts a spring force on the signal element against the dispensing direction and is tensioned as the signal element is transported in the dispensing direction.
